Wow those Ronaldo fans are quick to his defense

It was a good thing Giggs didn't include his own team, but it wasn't like he thought this whole thing out for days, he probably just thought of it when he was asked. Its all about opinions and Giggs' opinion seems to be what most of us concur with.

Man I'm just tired of hearing shiite about Ronaldo, specially in that "best world player candidate" forum. You guys say how he wasn't any great for his team, but you guys overlook what he did for RM on La Liga and how he almost put RM against Juventus, still being injured, by getting that penalty. Only, Luis Figo put Ronaldo's effort away, or else I'm sure Ronaldo would of been the best player on the final of the CL like he is always on final and big games. Just look at almost every big game that his team play, the guy is always the climax of the game. I may not be able to see many games that Ronaldo plays, but I do have a way of following him and the games that he plays very well, so from what I have seen in the web I've concludedthat you guys are just hating on him since he has done so much and could do a lot more.

People just don't think Ronaldo is that great anymore and especially don't like what he did when he left Inter. He's personally my favorite player but some people just have opinions that differ, no big deal really, just the whole point of the forums

yea it's not like ronaldo's fallen off. he had a great season, by all means. and he's off to a blistering start this time around.

but in all fairness, i just didn't think he had a season as great as ruud or nedved. but all credit to him. he's proven that he's back and he's playing like he's got something to prove.

maybe you are blind ronaldo's first goal was clearly helped by barthez's poor positioning, other than that he is a good striker

the first goal, barthez was beaten to his near side. he was in poor postion. not to take any credit from ronaldo because he made an excellent run and was marked well and struck a well ball in stride.

the second goal was a result of bad defense. there were no defenders around him. in fact, they weren't even watching him. they were all focused on zidane and roberto carlos building up the play.

the third goal...simply class. i don't think anyone really would have gotten a hand on that one.

but the fact of the matter is, a goal's a goal. and he scored three and turned in a special performance that night. great match, it was.

Nice team carlos sucking up to your team mates. Helguera at centre back, what is he thinking. I mean Helguera is not a crap player but he is a crap centre back. A good team will rip Real to shreds if he and some other idiot are at the back, with carlos and salgado up front trying to bag goals.

i think he could have found a better midfielder than makelele. claude is a good dmf, but not best in the world imo.

I too am sick of these Ronaldo-haters! ALL angry that he did so well to put so many countries away in the WC!
Barth's position in the 1st goal was not bad, because he didnt even have the time to set up because Ronaldo just took that shot, first touch from outside the box, something not even Buffon would expect.
Ronaldo is the best finisher in the world, and theres no arguing. Quit making it seem like he's some evil guy cuz he's a PROFESSIONAL and has to switch clubs...its his wife's fault, and y'all wouldve done the same!

The assist to Rivaldo and then the miraculous freekick put the final nail in the coffin for us.

Ronaldinho tearing apart the English defence in the Rivaldo goal was just superb to watch.

The second goal, whether you think it was a fluke or not, deserves recognition, because no-one had lobbed Semen from forty yards before.
