And hes one of the most scoring goalies of all time.

yeah I remember that guy.. in almost all the times he tried to do the scorpion in a match, he could't.. so he recived a los of goal for doing that stupid achrobacy (is it well written) thing...

I did it once in indoor, and got totaly smashed by their player who was looking up to get the ball, and ran striaght through me while I was half upsidedown. I was sore for days.

Saved it though.

Hey Nico u really dont know about soccer. Higuita's Scorpion was done in a friendly game by Colombia against Englad in Wembley. He had done the play in practices but NEVER in an official game. he just did it b/c it was a friendly game and did it again in Maradona's farewell game in Buenos Aires, it was just for fun. He never let any goals in b/c he just did it twice and never in official games. It was just exibition!!

yes, you know your soccer, 10 pts for you.
He actually started "the scorpion" while filming a "Frutiño" commercial, that's like "Tang" in the US. anyway, there were little kids with him in the commercial, and in the a break from filming the kid kicked the ball at Higuita and the "scorpion" was born....but yes it was a friendly at Wembley when he did it, and it was also featured over last summer at the Movies for a Gatorade spot right before the movie started.

That shot was by Jamie Redknapp!

Higuita did make one of the worst blunders in a World Cup.

In the 1990 World Cup Columbia v Cameroon and he charged towards the opposition with the ball. He was dispossessed by the Cameroon player in midfield who shot into the empty net.

yes, that made him a villain and cost us to be eliminated from Italia 90, but "made up" again for it with his awesome perfomances in Libertadores, he had a magnificent free-kick against River Plate, Atl.Nacional (his soccer club) won thanks to that goal. He did miss however USA 94 cause of his alleged "involvement" with some kidnappers, but was released shortly after that, nothing was ever proven.
