VariousStyles is right, calling Canada the surprise team is way too premature. They were somewhat lucky to get a tie against an impressive Costa Rican team, and they played absolutly terrible against South Korea. That game was incredibly borring, Canada didn't have a single chance to score.

Honduras defeated Colombia 2-0 !!! In the Second game of the Gold Cup double header the U.S beat Peru 1-0.

Personally, I would agree that Mexico is better than the USA. That doesn't make me a bad USA fan, either. Just honest.
But... why do you have to be so rude about it?
Starting off in ALL CAPS is what Goodsport was referring to. It's considered to be equivalent to YELLING!
Your choice of using insulting words with no provocation was also offensive.

Personally, I agree that Mexico will probably win the Gold Cup. I think the USA will give a strong showing for themselves, but even if they make it past Colombia, which I think will be hard given the history, beating Mexico in LA will be unlikely... but not impossible.
Most USA-Mexico matches over the past 5 years have been very exciting, close matches. I hope to see another one in the Final.

If "whooping" people at FIFA2K is your highest acheivement in life perhaps you need to turn your computer off for a while and read a few books.

Your bio has you as a student in Ohio, USA...
Why do you act with such spite for the country you live in? Unless you are at a private school, my tax dollars are helping pay for your education!

I will be honest, I am living in the US and I appreciate it.

And yes, I do study, and I am an honor student with AP classes =)

As for your education and tax dollars, check up the secondary education given in Mexico compared with that of the US, and see which one you would rather be paying for.

I took classes here AGAIN in 9th grade that I had taken in Mexico in 7th grade, that's depressing.

Anyway, this IS a FIFA2000 forum, so I have all the right to talk about FIFA2000. Hey if it's so bad why don't you challenge me some time, that way we can settle things once and for all =).

And anyway, Mexico has won your cup since 1996, accept it and stop crying. Even you know that the US needs to evolve. I do not hate this nation; I have American relatives. I simply dislike the attitude of the US national team, which needs to improve greatly. That's all I have to say.

That may be true, but I believe that you're talking about the U.S. Cup. This thread is about the Gold Cup (Copa de Oro), which is not 'our' cup... it belongs to the Football Confederation (formerly CONCACAF) to determine the Confederation's champion (although Peru and South Korea were invited into it as well this year).

It's true that most of the World Cup '98 US team and staff kind of had that attitude... but what most people here seem not to notice is that the entire staff (coaches, trainers, etc.) and almost the entire roster is completely different now.

What I appreciate about new coach Bruce Arena is his ability to admit that he needs to look deeper into the talent pool in the US than Steve Sampson did (who basically took almost all the same players to the World Cup that had played with him for years). And so far this current squad hasn't really displayed that much of an attitude (at least not NEARLY as much as that World Cup '98 US squad did)!

But more should definitely be done to find the talent in this country, though.

Whats this about Jsbach and Goodsports money payng for Teknos edumacation,Theres plenty of illegal immigrants in the U.S who will NEVER get to see the money deducted from their pay checks due to fake social security numbers.Take all this money the goverment gets to keep and divide it by the amount of hispanics going to college or university (very few) and you still have more than enough money left so that the Goverment doesnt need to pick your pockets to pay for "minoritys" or non U.S citycens.Illegal Imigrants in particular are generating enough money that Corporations are begining to take notice EXAMPLE before McDonalds would air their english commercials dubed in spanish NOW they make spanish commercials using hispanics,another example magazines like People and Cosmo and many others now also print their magazines in spanish all this targeted of course to the spanish speakig community especialy illegal immigrants who havent learned english yet.Why all this attention to such a particular group $$$ i cant of any other reason so when it comes to deducting money from hard workin AMERICANS such as you two Various Styles is damn certain your money aint going to Teknos edumacation.JUST FOR FUN today i saw an add in the news paper where Miller Brewing Company is going to donate $1,000 for every goal Mexico scores (in the Gold Cup) to the U.S education leadershp fund. Somebody said something about it would be o.k for the U.S to lose to Colombia !!! what the hell are you smoking this colombian team sucks ass.take a look at how Colombia got here first their coach was doing fine he takes their sub 23 team to the preolimpico got some damn good results but had the bad luck to face the Brazilian team wich tore their ass apart 9-0 to a rhythem of samba conducted by Ronaldinho and Alex.this coach gets fired and the new one had like two days to chose new players for the Gold Cup the other coach was going to bring the sub 23 spiced up with some seasoned veterans (this team would have been much better) as we can all see Colombia bearly beat lowly Jamaica 1-0 and got their asses kiced by Honduras 2-0 and the only reason Colombia is advancing to the next round is because Honduras beat Jamaica into submission 2-0.Therefore losing to Colombia should be considered a failure...
