Hello there,

I just bought a new computer and now i am facing some problems with FIFA 07. :( Here is the information about my PC:

2.33 GHz / 1,98 GB of RAM / NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS

More details:

VIDEO PL. 640 MB Geforce 8800GTS PCI-E
MB Intel BLKDG33FBC
CPU INTEL Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33 GHz S775
DIMM 1024 MB 800 DDR (2 vnt.)
HDD 320 GB Seagate 7200 16MB

More details about video card:

Stream Processors 96
Core Clock (MHz) 500
Shader Clock (MHz) 1200
Memory Clock (MHz) 800
Memory Amount 640MB or 320MB
Memory Interface 320-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 64
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 24
Shader model - 3.000000
Driver Version - 6218
Video Memory - 1024 mb

So, I can easily play such games like Hitman: Blood Money, Splinter Cell: Double Agent and that... But I cant play Fifa 07! Installing patch and roster update from official site did not help. Here is the deal: when I turn on my fifa 07, everything seems fine. But when I start the game, when video, showing the players entering the stadium and showing both team's formations, so when that video starts, a huge giant LAG begins. It seems that pictures, not a video shows. When I start to play, when i take control of one of the teams, everythings seems fine - no lag occurs. good passes, shots, trics etc. But when a replay shows, card shows, foul occurs and pops the video players having conversation, then a big big lag shows up again. This is a replay thing I guess, because when playing and opening a menu, replays shows in the background and a big lag comes too. When I get back in the game itself, everything seems fine once again. I dunno where is the problem.

Here is the images. Right here the match intro starts and i face a big big lag:

Also, intro continues, and a big lag occurs:

Formation shows, intro continues and a giant lag continues too:

The game finally starts.. and no lag! Everything seems fine, no lag, i dont know if graphics should be like that, but i think it should, Anyway, i can play the match itself without any problems:

I scored the goal and the lag starts immediatly. It seems, as I said, that it is not a video, but a picture slideshow :) :

OK, so in the game, when i open the menu, replay shows in the background and a huge lag occurs:

Note: my screen resolution is 1280x1024. However, I play FIFA 07 on 1024x768 resolution, because the better graphics shows then. I tried to change all the resolutions in alot of ways, nothing worked.

Looking forward to your answers.

In EA forums replied to me with an answer:

Go in C Drive,Program Files,EA Sports,FIFA 07,Data,cmn,right click on cfg_pc_h.ini and open with notepad..Scroll down to the bottom and edit DISABLE_DOF = 0 to DISABLE_DOF = 1 and DISABLE_POSTFX = 0 to DISABLE_POSTFX = 1 and save the notepad..And play

The one thing you didn't tell us is which operating system your new PC is running. If it is Windows Vista then you have my sympathies since some folk have found such problems commonplace and difficult to get rid of. I believe that part of the issue lies with the nVidia drivers so it might be worth looking out for new drivers on a regular basis.

It's not a Vista problem as I have the same problem using XP with a fairly good computer. Will try the fix posted above and see if that helps it.

yeah, ive got the same problem. It started happening after i updated my graphic driver to play a different game. I havnt uninstalled my new driver cause i like medal of honor airborne better and fifa 08 is only 6 days away.

So if you've updated your driver or something try unistalling it.
