Good players to buy on CM 00/01?

CM 01/02 keeps crashing on me for some reason, the last time killing a game in which I had 4 games remaining in the Premiership whilst managing Plymouth and a good shot at the title. This was after three succesive promotions from the start of the game, two vans trophies (hey, it was as Plymouth dammit!), a league cup and an F. A cup final (fights back tears). To avoid this kind of trauma repeating itself I have bought CM00/01 to play instead. However, many of my favorite cheaper buys such as Nikiforenko, Joao Paiva etc. are not on the game. Anybody have any suggestions for good buys, preferably under $3 million? Also, anyone know why the hell CM01/02 would keep crashing (RAM is fine).? All help appreciated.

sorry mate its quite a long time ago since i played it, all i remember is being big clubs and buying either Saviola or Angel from River, or Palermo from Boca.

I've been on a scouting frenzy and have now found some good players, having bled the portugeuse youth ranks dry. 10 wins, 1 loss so far. Thanks anyway.

becuase i very much doubt hes got the Greek league on, also, he was better on CM01/02.

To answer TROD's questions, I've bought Adolfo, Anniste, Americo, Rafael, Vasco, Joao Paulo and Carmo. Also Ivan Moreno y Fabianese (an awesome DM on CM 01/02) and Amare Kailie who looks really promising and arrives in two months time. All young (around 18-21), but all with good potential I believe. The cost all up was around 30 thousand pounds. Many were free.
Ronald Gomes plays for Sociedad on the CM 00/01 version which as I mentioned I'm playing at present. He's 4.7 million and I have a total remaining budget of 8 thousand pounds. I'm thinking of buying hot-dogs. I only have any transfer money at all due to the fact that I sold half of my squad early on. F*cking third division!

Mistake on my part. I meant Gomez. Same guy... Sociedad. As for Adolfo, if you mean is he the guy I was babbling about in another thread, then yes, same guy. Like I said, a bargain. I'm trying to get Ishizaki now, but he's telling me about his concerns about 'language and lifestyle', which as you probably know is code for "sod off, you are a crap lower league team and I'm not playing for you". Promotion is imminent though. Who are you managing at present?

it always annoys me that excuse, its obvious that its actually the wage that intrests them, so basically, he would turn down Chelski if they came and said, play for us on 100 grand a week, i think not. very annoying. BE HONEST FOR GODS SAKE!

Yeah, I had some arsehole, whose name I can't even remember turn me down with the language and lifestyle BS and then join Southampton. Oh yes, huge difference in culture between those two places.

The other one is that they love their club so much that they can't leave.....after they've entered into negotiations and seen what your offer is of course. still, what can you do? play Total Club Manager, the management game designed by Forrest Gump?
