US audience can careless about that.. and probably don't even know most of the rosters any ways.

Look, the only who is going to buy this game are soccer knowledgeable fans. They certainly would know what the roster are. When KONAMI released PES2, the roster was already outdated. Five months later, they still haven't done a damn thing about it. Apparently I am the only one who is pissed off about this. I don't want to see any of you make any complaints about the roster once you find out how impossible it is to edit them.

OK. A MAJORITY of the buyer will be soccer fans who knows who is who on what team. It's like playing Madden or NBA2K3 with outdated roster. Except with WE6I, you can't just transfer players to the correct teams so freely to have current roster. You guys will find out when you get the game.

Missing the point!

Da Juice, the majority of us want PES2/WE6 here in North America because it's a soccer game with great gameplay. No, we're not obssessive about rosters, about whether a player's eyes are too close together on the game or his hair is shorter in real life. We want the game for the gameplay.

The reason you feel isolated in being pissed off about the rosters is because you don't understand the frustration we've had in waiting years for a decent soccer game and to be honest if they were all named 001, 002, 003 etc. we probably wouldn't cry about it because the game is so excellently playable.

If we were at all fussed about the rosters and graphics as much as you we'd have stuck with FIFA 2003 but the truth is we want to PLAY a great soccer game not be obssessed in a nerd like fashion over up to the minute transfers.

(p.s. Da Juice, spare the normal cuss words, patronizing and personal insults of your typical replies and try to stick to the subject)

Personal insult and self-patronizing??? I pointed out a fact that you don't read or is ill-inform about certain things which you wrote. OK. So you don't care about who is who on what roster. Well other people do. Have you play with your favorite team and half of the players are not there. It is like the Lakers don't have Shaq or Kobe. Believe me, if KONAMI did add real club names and real kits, the game would sell more. Like I said before. It is the overall package. You can have the best gameplay in the world, but if you are missing some elements which could make the game more aunthentic, it is still not the best game.

you can make your fav teams in Master League, right?

can use the team you created in MS in Friendlys? is there an option to load MS clubs in there (and replace all the standard ones)?

YOu start in Div 3 with scrubs-no name- players regardless of what club you chose in ML. You can accumulate points with each game depending on if you win/loss, how many goals you scored. You can use these points to purchase or loan a player.
YEs, you can use your ML in Friendlies.
YOu can replace the ML clubs but it takes a lot of work because of the limitations of the transfer system.
NO. You can't load up an edited club into the ML. In ML, you start with scrubs, regardless of what team you chose. So you can't play MANU in ML with the real roster from the start.

no, i meant, when you choose friendly, can you make it so that all the clubs have the same players (or all the edits you made in master league) as in your master league season? - that means load in not just that one club you wanna play with - all of them.

Yes. But it's takes a lot of time to make all the clubs have accurate roster because there have been so many changes since the transfer window closed about 2 weeks ago. In addition, the transfer system in the game is very limited. For example, you can't just transfer Ronaldo from Inter to Real. You can erase Ronaldo from Inter by making changing his appearance and stats (not recommended), which affect the Ronaldo in the Brasilian squad. So if you renamed Ronaldo to some other name, guess what, that also affect the Ronaldo in the Brasilian squad. You can make a base copy of Ronaldo and get him in the Real squad. But you can't make him in the starting eleven without overwriting one of the existing player on the starting 11. It is messy to explain. You will understand it when you tried to make the roster updated.

Your saying SOccer knowledgeable fans would know the rosters eh?

what makes you think that...? when all the teams are located accross the world and the only people that can even watch some of the games are the ones who have channels like FOx Sports WOrld.

I have played soccer since I was 3.. and I'm 25 and still play very competitive soccer. :)

andwhy do you think also the only people who will buy this game are knowlegeable soccer fans????? why do you say that? lol if it's a sports game that has great gameplay like the reviews say it does.. then all kinds of different people will buy it.

and quite honestly... the only reason I know some of the rosters very well is bc of FIFA..... that's it.

ESPN.. sports Center..... the most popular sports shows in the States have 0 % coverage of any of the leagues over seas....

Yes. I still believe that a majority of the people who buy this game will be soccer knowledgeable fans or soccer fans. PES/WE games tend attract an older age group as appose to FIFA because the gameplay is much harder. It is a specialist game because in order to play and master it, you have to know or will learn how soccer/football works in real life. You can't just use the sprint button like FIFA and expect to score tons of goals. The casual fans will pick it up out curiosity but when they play it, most of them will probably say it is overrated due to the complexity of the game.
If you truly believe in your statement saying that if the review for the gameplay is great, a lot of people will buy it, then explained why FIFA2003 outsold PES2 by a margin of 2 to 1 in Europe. This includes the PS2. After all, PES2 is better then FIFA2003 and most reviewers give it great scores. You would think that everyone would rather buy PES2 in Europe since it is better than FIFA2003.
FIFA2003 is not even that great of a seller in the US. Amongst the sports game released in the US last year, I say that soccer related games are well at the bottom in terms of sells. Those who bought soccer games are either soccer players or people who enjoy soccer. A perfect example is yourself being someone who have played the game since 3. How many of your friends who are not interested in soccer will buy this game. Most of my friends who are not into soccer don't know what it is. Heck they don't even know what FIFA is less care about a soccer game. So you are gonna tell me that they are going to buy this game because they heard great reviews about it. Soccer maybe a growing sports in the US, but it is still far away from the major sports here in terms of fans volume.
Most of my friends love American football and they know who is on what team. We are in a fantasy football league. So we know follow the offseason transactions. THe same applied to soccer if you truly follow sports. It does not matter what league it is. If you like MLS, you are gonna know who is which team. If you like soccer, you will find sources to get anything soccer. If ESPN and the major TV networks in the US don't show soccer, then you find alternative sources like FSW.
Just out of curiosity, why did you decided on getting WE6I or play FIFA in the first place? Is it because you are a soccer player or is it because FIFA got great reviews from game magazines.

V-9 you sound TOO optimistic - i went to SONY forums and started talkin about WE6I - a couple of not-so-interested-in-soccer pplz actually read my stuff (KONAMI rulez, FIFA sucks kinds of things ;) ). They said they're actually gonna try this game.

[All the other ppl -> soccer=fans <- there, said they're gonna buy the game]

All this game needs to start selling is good reviews - "an averge america joe is always up for new adventures".

not everyone here in US is THAT stupid man ;)

I agree with you there. When I was playing ISS2 with an emulator, I showed my cousin ISS2 who does not know anything about soccer, he is a great basketball player and he follows hockey and baseball....NA sports and he really liked the gameplay.

You probably meant to say PESSIMISTIC. I said the majority of people of who are going to buy this games are soccer fans. That does not mean you are not going to have people who is going to try it out it curiosity. By the way, anyone check the previews at ebgames.com. Two idiots probably EA cronies gave WE6I a rating of 1. One guy even wanted it to give a negative rating.
