Well, FIFA 2004 will be full DirectX 9 compatabile, so i don't know how will it work with DX 8.1 graphics cards. For your problem maby one of solutions is to free up extra disk space with disk cleanup (accessories, system tools, disk cleanup), 'cause that could be a problem of slowing up your machine (much garbage from internet and stuff...).
But, maby the best solution would be to download WHQL drivers (45.23) from Guru3d and NVHardpage to disable vertical sync and force 16 bit textures, 'cause you cannot disable that things in graphic card control panel.
And you could turn off Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic filtering, or just put it back to 2x, 'cause named features are eating card's chip.

the XT is ATI's intermediate card before they lauch their new card. If you have a 9800 Pro then theres no point upgrading. Its hardly 5-10 fps faster.
the 9600 XT and 9800 XT are the 2 new cards that were lauched yesterday.
If you intend buying a new one and have the money then get the XT...but don't bother upgrading if you have something like a 9800 pro.
The 9600 Pro and 9600 XT are excellent cards too. Production of the 9500 pro and 9700 pro has been stopped.

okey people i have an AMD ATHLON 1.00ghz with 128 ram; and a ATI RADEON 7200 64mb; do you think it would run fifa 2004 okey or should i get a new graphics card; i was thinking even of getting a new AMD higher processor and more memory; what you think i should do?; keep in mind i am cheap

What's the deal? This GPU will be able to give a really high clock (412) and 730 for RAM, of course, all in 256 bit interface. All that looks really nice, but there is allways a problem - a cooler will be pritty big, but as ATi says, you aint' gonna hear it at all. But, my guys in VIDI says that as the temperature of GPU and RAM raises, so will cooler get louder (something like GeForce FX 5900 Ultra).
And there is a new "but", but a nice "but"
This card will be a overclocking heaven for overlcokers and all that freaks.Price? 500 Euros.

Well, i think you could, but on lower details, 'cause Radeon 7200 (i had it) is a pritty... low end card. Really low end for today's perspective.
If you have 500 Dollars to spend, try to spend it in this way:
Buy:
MBO: ABIT NF7-S, nForce2 SPP+MCP-t, DDR, integrated sound, LAN, FW, S-ATA, socket A
Proc: AMD Barton 2500 +
RAM: 2x 256 DDR 333 (not 1 module od 512, 'cause with 2x256 it runs better)
G-Card: Radeon 9500 NonPro
Now, let's explain all components:
Motherboard has a very good overclocking abilities, and when you put on it two modules of 256 333 DDR, then you enable MBO's special feature which only has ABIT.
Proc: AMD Barton 2500+ is a very, very overclockable, so you could OC it to 2.3 GHz (originally it's on 1833 MHz)
G-Card: when you have 9500 NonPro edition, you can "make" it to be a Radeon 9700, 'cause 9500 and 9700 have been made on the same GPU, but 9500 has "locked" few pipelines which could it make 9700. How to unlock it? Simply: download Omega drivers from Guru3D (i think, try to Google if you don't find it on named site).
