Great new Ideas for upcoming WE/PES!!

Hello Guys.....

i've been playing football games since the Atari one with 3 players that had Pele on its cartridge and fireworks when you score... until WE 8 and PES 4...

from my experience here are some relatively small and modest ideas that i think will just put EA's fifa to sleep (fifa had its time but it failed us,sorry) ........

1- first of all its time to move to a career mode as a player or a keeper.... we have player lock and we have player cam... this will be the next step for konami.....imagine taking yourself as a player and joining an online team!

2- managers interaction on the touchline... i remember there was a coin game called hattrick hero... it had managers shouting and expressing emotions and that was 1996 or something...why not see for example scolari shouting instructions on the touchline?

3- players warming up on the touchline (was included in the old manchester united games and euro 92 games 1993!).....

4- when i score a goal or win a tournament...why cant i celebrate myself?..run to the crowd..do moves that i like....even have a little analog system (NBA LIVE 2005 dunk style!) itll make you enjoy the goals and have a personal touch (was included in a j-league game on SNES and in the FIFA 94 and 95)

5- when im winning 5-0...why not hear the fans should OLE OLE OLE everytime i pass the ball?....also how about if i buy a star player in master league..why don't they put the camera on him in his debut or sitting on the bench?.....

6- the penalties have to be improved definetely... a deeper system would be appreciated.... even the kick off 2 on amiga was class ( the little arrow!!)

7- freely choose your camera... just zoom rotate do whatever you want with it.....this feature was included in a game called onside soccer on cd-rom 1995 (had schmiechel on its cover).....

8- lets be able to customize more and more....not only balls... goal posts styles...net styles...corner flags...grass.....also the kits for the master league teams in winning eleven were horrible....kits with hearts? it was better before.......

9- why not add some wind,bumpy pitches and proper physio's insted of the player sitting out of field on his own like he's taking a dump...kick off 2 had those features (not the taking a dump one though lol)

there's a lot more but lets see what do you guys have to offer....lets show konami that we respond positively to their great work

Some great ideas. I liked numer 2 the most.

Here are some of mine:

1. Head to head show. Eg, Barcelona play Real Madrid there should be like the game in the game. Ronaldo vs Ronaldinho, shoots on goal and stuff. Statistics meanwhile playing, after a shoot or something.

2. Replays for chances that doesn't end with going out to a corner or goalkick, they could be played after the ball have got "dead" for the first time since the chance.

3. Media involvement.
When playing league mode example every week there should be a newspaper and/or the team of the week, the goal of the week, the goal of the year the team of the year the goalscorer of the year the playmaker of the year and stuff.

4. AFter the game there should be shown who the man of the match is.

I think there should be a quick restart option - if you get fouled, you can hit a button that automatically makes your guy jump up and pass it.

I think some of Konami Manager are looking into different baords and pick up some idea, i can remember last year, many user want specialy celebrations or a referee, a sub celebration and many more and all is now in.
but what are the most think is the perfect gameplay, we don´t need every year 100th of big new ideas, we need the perfect gameplay and they still working on it, i know
for atmosphare you can play fi*fa. But the importants is the game play and not a script like ea. The Ball is round

Great gameplay is nothing these days without the hole package.

Fifa have noticed gameplay is the first priority rather than licenses and have now put focus on that. The marketing and competion of the best football game will be harder and harder.

This was sorta said in the original post as number 1. It would be good that when we score a goal we can control the player so we can celebrate our own style! I'd love to have an option as well where we could take the players shirts off when they score, even though he might get booked but it would be fun! I'd love to rub it in so much over the opponent when I score an important goal!

It would also be good if we could make the player run to the crowd to celebrate with the fans!

i would just like for PES/WE to have a manager concept.

in master league , teams would trade managers/coachs also.

in todays football , managers are as important or even more important than players.

coachs could influence the team work of a team , the form of the players , the concentration of the players during the game , the injury times ( a physio ) , youth players , development of players.

We already have gameplay, so let’s have a look wider.
There should be medicine inspection at the end of the match to check out drug content of the player and banned him, if concentration higher than normal.
Also would be great if some1 from the crowd will have a possibility to dash a coin/bottle into the ref head! This way a match should be suspected.

The great thing about bonus characters (like players warming up/coach on the touch line), is they can easily create a setting to turn them off, for people with slower computers.

I really enjoyed reading about EA's uocoming title Champions League... They listed a lot of "new" features that would boost their game. I started reading, the list contained about six or seven features, and every one of them are already in PES4! Seems like EA's got their eyes open for what Konami is doing

That´s the point. i still play Sensible World of Soccer because of that: you start in Norway 2nd division, after a couple of seasons you may be in a small english team from priemier trying not be relegated and finaly if you're good enough manchester wants you to replace sir Ferguson... and you sell your players because you can meet up with them in a later season. in PES ML i don't have any reason to sell my best players so after three or four seasons you win everything and you lose the fun and start over again...

I could care less about commentary, or celebrations or music. And the menus could be all text for all i care. For once, they should stop upgrading graphics, just for one year and try to assign all that memory and processing power to some nice defensive AI (including goalkeepers). As a matter of fact, they should improve the AI as a whole. Unless they allow us to play master league online, after a while, even on 6 stars, you can predict every move the computer makes. It doesn't even matter. I tried a game only using through pass when i get to the opposition's midfield, and i can guarantee that you will get many one on one situation (thanx to opposition players stumbling over invisible obstacles sometimes).
I love the WE series and all, but they are starting to go down the wrong route. It's about time someone starts working on gameplay in sports game.

P.S. An option for a custom camera angle wouldn't hurt either especially since they dropped the old broadcasting view.

I`m really happy the way things are. Like Seabass said already, they have so many new ideas for PES/WE but can`t do anything about it until PS3 is released.

the problem is, my friends, that people from japan (like konami...they are from japan ain't them?, well, anyway) are making these footie games, but they don't know crap about football...i mean japan? they only got to the final stages of the last world cup thanks to fifa...i remember the match between spain and korea...that was corruption as its best!...oh..i got too polytical...i'm sorry i'm drunk...good work konami!!

You must be really drunk there buddy or you`re completely out of your mind. Japan plays football very well. Just because they don`t do good in World Cups and other tournaments.. doesn`t mean they are crap in football. Do you even watch theif football, the J League and the style they play. I can almost say it`s more enjoyable watching Japanese teams play than European ones...

Their football is very organised, fast no BS etc.

Don`t get me wrong Europe / South America own football "meaning" two continents that are die hard/crazy hardcore football fans but trust me Japan is not crap in football.

i think that the AI is too easy for most of us decent players...specially the ones who know how to play football in real life lol...... i remember opening the defence for the AI and instead of going all the way to one on one...they take a shot from outside the box that ends in the stands (on 6 stars)...more aggressive AI plz.....

the things are suggested should be implemented after the gameplay is improved of course...it is why we buy the game not repetitive cinematics that we press start to skip it each time lol

i still want the game to stay arcadish....i mean not too much management and stuff.... management is for managerial games and its a whole different ball game....but being able to switch clubs as a manager or a player in ML is a step forward....

i have all the faith in the so-called JAPANESE ppl behind the game.. the reason is that simply when a new edition comes out nobody plays the one before anymore..and this has happened since superstars soccer!!

while i still play FIFA on Sega (the one where you can only score from the edge of the box..H.VAN SMEITER hehe) and i wouldn't touch fifa 2002 !!

how about moreset pieces techniques?...like designing positions for players or setting players near post for a corner?...it would create a more creative free kick routine

This is what EA has done to fifa .they started to put more & more details and forgot about gameplay . this doesn't mean i hate your ideas .no i love it but i like slow successful development than rushed one that just want to suck money .
Me & my friends has fifa05 but i swear we still prefer winning eleven 3 on ps .

yes i agree... i don't want all these things implemented next year.....these are just ideas for the future and when added wisely every year we'll enjoy it more and more...

some of them have been implemented in games before but the gameplay didn't exist!!... now is a historical chance to have both...

for example national anthems would be a very nice addition to the teams before a world cup match (was in world cup 1998 by EA)...

also have faith in konami.....remember when we used to get red cards for normal fouls or pushes?...remember when there was handball calls that ruined the game?... the advantage rule didn't work well before this edition.... so they're doing things very very well so have no fear..the beautiful game is in good hands
