Half Length

Not sure if it'd work with direct ip, but heres the steps to increase the half length (courtesy of nutunited):
* Open Notepad: Start - All Programs – Accessories – Notepad
* Type HALF_SECONDS = 2700
* Go to File-Save As
* Navigate to the main FIFA08 directory (C![:\](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/vb/fslash.gif ":\ :\")
Program Files\EA SPORTS\FIFA 08\)
* Change ‘Save as Type’ from ‘Text Documents’ to 'All Files' and for ‘File Name’ type user.ini
* Hit save
Nb. the 2700 is the number of seconds in the half you want to play. Thats for 45 min halves (i.e. 45x60=2700). If you wanted to play 20 min halves you would put HALF_SECONDS = 1200 (i.e. 20x60)

ok, you can try this too...
This is from way back in FIFA 2005:
Open a session of Notebook.
Insert the line that piCARSO stated (HALF_SECONDS = 2700)
Save file in main FIFA 2008 folder and call it locale.ini (But, change the file type from text file to all files like piCARSO stated)
Start FIFA, play a game and see the time go by slowly, as the half seconds is set to a true 45 minute half. I have the HALF_SECONDS set to 0900 but one can play with this value as such.
If you play DirectIP, wouldn't your opponent have to have the same locale.ini file as you AND have the same HALF_SECONDS value as you have? That would make sense, BUT i don't play online.
Give it a try and see how it goes.
