I'm Confused. Everyone on here seems to think that Fifa is good, true?? I don't get it, as Fifa has been crap ever since the megadrive.
The latest 'arcadey' shambles of a game they produced (Fifa World Cup 2002) was a joke. Weird looking players with huge heads does not mean great graphics. 'STAR' players with ridiculous speed, power, whatever, definately do not make for good gameplay.
Try comparing Fifa to Winning Eleven 6, or PES. The gameplay is the best to ever grace a game, of any kind, and the graphics actually represent real players as they really look, not as freaks with huge heads. The animations also give the feel of real football, whereas Fifa can only be compared to something like Red Card Soccer, to which it is still a poor second.

All you guys out there, get some clarity in your lives, go out and buy a PS2 with PES and WE6, and follow me here and talk to some real football fans.

Why do you need to flame someone who is speaking the truth? I know people shouldn't just come in here and call it crap but there is no need to flame him for it. Lets be honest PES is so much better than Fifa. If people just keep buying Fifa games the sh!tty standard of fifa games will continue. FIFAWC2002 is the latest in a long line of poor fifa tiltes, i mean you win the world cup in one hour and then it is over!Wow great game, and the in game, gameplay is still sh!t as well, why don't you lot flaming him just calm down like Manuel R. Never updated?? OK, sorry. I forgot about the earth shattering advances the FIFA games have made, compared to the gameplay of WE6/PES.


Maybe if those dumb sh!ts at Konami would release PES in N. America we *wouldn't* buy FIFA.

Maybe if you guys would aknowledge the world game that is FOOTBALL, on a bigger scale instead of playing Rounders, Rugby with armour and, your only real sport, Ice Hockey.

i agree with most of you fifa games arent of good standards wc2002 had some of the same commentary as fifa 2001 actually most of the same of FIFA 2001 come on now. sometimes i wonder is those idiots at ea actually watch soccer WHY THE HELL IS ISREAL IN THE FU****CKING WC BUT NOT NETHERLANDS? two modes of play ooooooooo wow sure its ok for a while but how long will two modes and thirty something teams last? damn i wish there were other kinds of soccer games besides ea or fifa but for now were just going to have to go with it or nothing if we dont have ps2 hey can someone tell what pes is all about what teams are in it

I think a lot of this comes down to personal taste and choice.

If you only have a PC then Fifa is the only real choice you have.
WC 2002 has some nice new touches, and is nice on the eyes.
It wont satisfy the football purist and falls short in a few areas (Goal keepers go missing in action on crosses), but it can also be fun to play and easy to pick up, with a limited shelf life once you've won the world cup a few times.

I dont have a console yet, but I think what ever gets offered up this October will help shape that descision, with the upcoming ISS PES 2 and Fifa 2003 and what ever that new club based game is from Codemasters.

Play what suits you, and dont be afraid to try something new, but this Mass debate gets quite boring after a while each year. :o

So for a guy with a PS2 in the US who's religiously played FIFA games throughout N64 days as well, what's my next/best choice? FIFA Soccer 2002 is the last soccer game I purchased, my roomate and I play quite often and pretty much can dominate the game on every level with any team - so where do we go from here? Is ISS an option (whatever the hell it is)? Should I get FIFA World Cup 2002 or wait for FIFA 2003? Help a brotha' out... :mrpimp:

just think of PES coming out in America~

Think of all those people who would realize how bad EA's FIFA were FOOTBALLWISE.

Think of the FIFA series going out of business.

Think of how many people would cry over the amount of money they've spent buying ALL the FIFAs
(btw this includes me, embarassing and resentful?... YES!!!)

*either way there would still be people who enjoy FIFA.
1. cuz they won't realize the depth PES or WE6 has
2. they just don't understand football
3. they don't care about football, as long as they get to play something fun.

Away from the 'is FIFA better or is PES/WE better' debate...
Just thought it would REALLY be funny to see the reaction of the FIFA luving people when PES comes out in the US.... :D

Over here the only Konami games we get aren't worth a nickel (that's US currency ;)). EA Sports hasn't been incredible, but when the bar is set so low, here in the states it's good enough...

If FIFA is so horrible, is there any US soccer/football games that are worth a damn?

On the PS2 you might want to check out World Tour Soccer or on the PC you can get a playstation emulator (epsxe is what i use) and play either ISS Pro Evolution 2 or Winning Eleven 2001 or 2002. Talk to either V-9 or the Fifa rtwc webmaster for help getting these games.

Never heard of any of those games! I'm not looking to go with anything on PC, I can never find decent controls (joystick-wise), that's why I bought a PS2... :( Guess cars aren't the only thing we don't get around here...

PS2 BLows really bad. the system is terrible. its got some ok games but as for ne kind of good graphics or clearness it blows. sony needs to get their heads out of their asses and people need to stop backing up their crappy systems so they can actually make something good.

for those of u who dont know..konami DID release a soccer game on the USA,and it was "ISS Pro Evolution" the european/american equivalent of Winning Eleven 4....the game is kinda outdated now,cause it was released in 2000,but its still an awesome game,those of you who want to play a real football game should get it..
