A number of individuals, including one of the moderators, have said that FIFA 2003 is very realistic in not letting you head the ball when you are by yourself as in a real game no player would ever head the ball but always control the ball first and then do whatever.
I don't believe this to be true. Having watched hundreds of professional and international games from around the world and having played the game for the last 25 years I would say there are plenty of times in a game where a player will use a quick header to:
- clear the ball
- play a through ball
- header a shot on goal
- flick on to an open player
The whole point is that you can do whatever you want with the ball in real life and the advantage of time and space is lost if you always control the ball first time. That's the whole point of one-touch soccer at times with instant passes, shots, headers which give you an advantage.
So, this poll is to see who agrees with me that you should be allowed to go for a header whenever you want, not just when a CPU player is in your shorts.
