help choosing a team

I love the game and want to choose a squad for a career. Only thing is, I'm from the US and don't know much about all the teams - they are just about all empty names to me. I do follow the national teams a little, but you can't use them in a career. I like a defensive style and the underdogs. Here in the US, for example, I like to root against the Yankees in baseball (the evil empire) and became a Red Sox fan because it is the arch rival. I gather Man U is the sort of "Yankees" of the premier league. I would like to use either the premier league, Scottish league, or the German league. Anuy help on putting some personality to a few teams to figure out which to use? Thanks

If you want a league that is defensive oriented, and a good challenge, I would go with the Bundesliga 1.

As for a team, if you want an underdog, i would go with Hertha Berlin or Kaiserlauntern.

I guess the other thing I should mention is I would like to use a good team as well. Not the best or the Man U type teams, but a team that still has an outside shot of winning. Maybe even the arch rivals of the Man U type teams.

Hertha Berlin has a good striker.. i think its Bode, i cant remember, All i know is that he used to play for my beloved Green and Whites:D



Stuttgart would be a good choice too, theyre a really good team, but not like a powerhouse...

Thanx for the replies so far. It's definately giving me some ideas. Any teams that are pretty good and really known for their defensive style or keeper?

Try getting a Division 1 team into the Premsiership. Say a team like, Norwich ;). Or you could try some not so good Division 1 teams like Walsall.

go for wolverhampton wanderers.......i chose them once and qualified for champions league..........although got no idea how i cud actuall do that!!!;)

I would say some one like Manchester City or Div 1 team i would say West Ham or Norwich and teams in Europe maybe Valencia, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund they are the best teams in there leagues in my opinion i personally would go for arsenal thats coz i support them..

Thanx for all the replies. I'm still having a tough time really identifing with a team, but I guess that comes from being a true fan and watching the matches. Maybe I'll do some internet browsing and learn a little more about some times. Any further ideas would still be appreciated.
