HELP - Editing lighting files

Phoenix

Reserve Team
I was snooping around in zdata_06.big and i found six files used for baked lighting. The same six files, plus a file called baked.ini, that were used for the baked lighting (cool lighting) in FIFA2003.

As that my GeForce2 MX400 64mb cant turn out the cool hardware lighting I have been trying to edit the baked lighting settings.

Results thus far, inconclusive.

First of all, EA's so called baked lighting is complete ****e. Running with the default files in zdata_06 (plus on a high detail level with baked lighting enabled) does cause good shading and lighiting however, as we have come to expect from EA, the lighting only appears when a player runs under a shadow and the shadow (normal) lighting is on the players when they are not in the shadows- GO FIGURE! Effectively, the wrong freakin way around!

Basically Im asking if anyone else has been having a shot at trying to fix this problem and get the baked lighting, any lighting for that matter, to work. The most progress I have gotten is to have the cool lighting on the players out of the shadow but also in the shadows. Does anyone know what values in these files change the shadow's lighting?

I have some more work and such to do but if anyone wants to help or has done some work towards this please contact me ([email protected]) or PM me. The lack of light in FIFA has finally driven me insane.

Btw, this is NOT a gamma problem. I had been using PowerStrip long before FIFA2004 came out, NBA Live 2003 also suffered from darkness on my video card.
