Hi!
I have a problem on Fifa 07. I play the game on notebook (laptop), and, when I play it with charge cable, the game is ultra fast. But, when I play it without the cable (on battery), the game is slow. What's the problem? Do somebody can help me? Please, I don't want to became a ProEvolution lover! Please

Thanks, Ensar

i read yesterday, that the ATI Catalyst resolve that problem, but I'm not sure.
I would like, if somebody, know the real solution for that, because the game is really good, and I would like to play it.

i have the same problem with my notebook, hope someone could help. :boohoo:

I have that problem as well but the way i get it to work is getting the laptop charged to 100% and playing it off the mains, seems to work for me sometimes, i think its just luck but it shouldn't be like that

Same for me. Also have to play on battery.
Been in contact with ATI and Fujitsu/Siemens, and they both claim it is something with the game. They have no solution and says it's up to EA to do a patch.
By the way, same problem with NHL07.

Has anyone found ANY other solution to this?

I believe that this is a problem with the drivers and technology that control CPU throttling to maximise battery life (SpeedStep for Intel but I can never remember the name of the AMD equivalent). You may find that the latest version of the driver may help or you might need to switch the process off altogether before playing the game. Doing so may seriously reduce the playing time when using battery power, so you really are better off on mains power.

My problem is opposite. It's too fast on main power, and working on battery.
So can I turn off cPU-throttling in main power mode? If so, where and how?
New drivers haven't helped, and the graphics/computer manufacturer claims the problem is in the game, not the drivers or hardware. (of course...:nape: )
And I can say other games I have don't have this problem.

Same problem, different manifestation. In your case you will need to reinstall the game with Speedstep (or the AMD equivalent) turned off, and then turn it off each time you wish to play the game.

Yes, and it depends on the software (although you can probably turn it off completely in the BIOS, but I wouldn't recommend it). I don't have my laptop at home at the moment so I can't check how Speedstep works, but I would expect to find an icon in the system tray and/or an entry in the Control Panel somewhere.

It is something to do with how the EA Sports' games identify how fast your machine is and then adjust in game performance accordingly, so it may well be peculiar to EA titles.

It is. It first appeared in 05' EA titles, including FIFA and NHL 05. I've had to deal with it, I don't know how to fix it.

This identification of speed, does it take place during installment, so it is noted in a file as a value one can change, or is it scanned by the game every time it starts?

mine starts up fast but then it slows down drastically. the player movements become fidgety. must be my graphics card. i dont even have a battery installed so it's terribly reliant on the Carlos. i definitely need to find a way to get a consistent speed during the game.

oo fixed mine, kind of by editing 3d display properties for my graphics card. enabling triple buffer, & two types of compression.

problem fixed for amilo

Joy! :bouncy:

Fixed the problem for the 'too fast screen during game play while on main power'!

This is for Fujitsu Siemens Amilo laptop:
- look for the button with a small fan on it. (may be placed right in front of the screen, mine is)
- activate it while game play

The function is for 'silent mode' and makes the fans rotate on slow speed - and the cpu and graphics to work slower too! :)
