Help with CONMEBOL Nat. Team Rosters?

Hey guys, I'm an editor for FIFA '07 for PC and I was hoping I could get a little help with some rosters.

I work on national teams, and obviously due to constantly changing rosters and the fact that they use a pool of players due to club responsibilities and other issues, it is tough to come up with a set 23 man roster.

As well I made over 200 teams so getting accurate rosters for every single team in the world from the start would have taken years. Our goal now is to try to do what we can to improve the lineups.

I was hoping you guys wouldn't mind taking a look at the rosters posted below and suggest changes to it. I would ignore the ratings the players recieve overall and try to focus more on the ratings as they relate to the other players on the team.

Anyway all I'm trying to do is come up with a realistic best 23 with at least 2 goalkeepers preferably 3.

Well unfortunately there are still those who wont and cant accept it when Venezuela wins anything usually they find any excuse possible to explain it away with a "the ref did it" or they cheated. I am tired of answering back to people like that....The fact is that the refs have been abysmal to say the least in the copa America, that Venezuela themselves did not get a clear penalty called on their behalf in the game against Bolivia and that the red card in the earlier part of the game was a red card offense by any standard. The ref missed a terrible penalty call to favor Peru but the way its been going, it wasnt as bad a miss as some of the others I have seen so far. Now if you had watch the game and not just read the chronicles in soccergaming, and other websites you would know that.

Wow, that is really really good. I have some questions though.

Why no Adriano in the Brazilian Lineup?

Sorin for Argentina?

Why is Chevanton on the bench for Uruguay?

And, I saw Bobadilla in the WC and he looked excellent. When he played in the Copa America he looks outstanding. He seems to be one of the best goalkeepers I've seen from what little I've seen. Still plays for Boca Juniors one of the Top Clubs in the world. I don't know much about Villar but I've been more impressed with Bobadilla... why doesn't Paraguay use him?

I'm asking all of this not to critize your lineups. I get to see very very little of the south american national teams. These are players I know and I'm just curious about them. Is it lack of form? personal opinion? Injury? not been getting call ups?

It's all curiousity and I am very impressed and greatful for the information you've provided so far.

Not a bad team, though I'd be surprised if Tabarez named that squad.

Dario Rodriguez is the starting LB for Tabarez, though he said he'll retire from NT football after the Copa America. Viera won't answer call-ups to the NT unless he's a starter, so chances are, he won't be called up again while Tabarez is in charge. Similar situation with Chevanton, I've heard.

I'd be very surprised if Orteman or Muslera are called up for even a friendly. Muslera only entered the pre-Copa America squad because Viera refused to travel. I'd say Munua is more likely to be picked as third GK, though I can't remember the last time Tabarez called up 3 GKs.

For Uruguay, I'd use the squad Tabarez took to the Copa America. That's the base of players he'll be using for the WCQ's, and pretty much everyone here agrees it's the best we've got (which has us all a little worried based on our performance in the Copa America). Other players he'll probably call up that didn't go to the Copa America are Carlos Bueno, Egidio Arevalo Rios, Mauricio Victorino, Alvaro González, Gaston Filgueiras, Guillermo Giacomazzi and Ignacio Ithurralde.

Tabarez has played around a lot with players since he took over, and there are a bunch he hasn't called up that may eventually get a chance (such as Regueiro and Gustavo Varela, both of whom are injured, AFAIK).

Paolo Montero retired from football a couple of months ago by the way. And Parodi, Lago, De Los Santos and "Chengue" Morales will never again be called up to the national team. Well... Lago might... maybe... if we're really desperate.

I assume Ronaldinho takes PKs and FKs.

Why Tabarez will never call Orteman?

And responding some questions.
Sorin hasnt being called by Basile, you can put him in Clemente Rodriguez spot if you want.
Adriano is playing like sh*t recently, overweight, if he not regain his form i really doubt he will return soon to Seleção.

He might, I just don't think it's likely. Orteman's best years were arguably in Olimpia, if he wasn't called then, I'd be surprised to see him being called now as a sub for Boca.

It's a tendency that our south american based players rarely get called up for the uruguayan national team, even when they're performing well on a regular basis. Gonzalo Choy and Hernan Rodrigo Lopez come to mind.

V.Sanchez is aesome, he has mature a lot as a player, he had an outstanidng season, weird he is not playin in Europe im sure Toluca ask a lot of money.

BTW I live in Toluca and i ran into him now and then, he is a party boy
