Help with money issues

Asisoni

Club Supporter
Hello all.
i have taken A.C Milan in manager mode (PS2).
the team is great as you all know, i win with great football and i enjoy it alot.
the only thing the concerns me now is money.
as it is now, i only lose and lose moeny every week. i started the season with 30.000 and it is declining ever since and i dont see a way to stop it.
salaries are something around 7300 each week, my sponser is 4500 a week, once in two weeks i have a home game and get only 2800 for it.
my first home game was the derby against inter and i thought it will give me a huge income, but no, it is the same as a game against ascoli. this is strange.

i allready sold one player (simic) but it did not make any difference.

Can anyone help me in tips how can i manage this team without beeing fired after i have no money left?

thank you all in advance.

I won't quote Dickens at you (Mr. Micawber for anyone that cares) but it is very difficult to start career mode with a top-level team, because you simply can't get a sponsor that offers enough money (the biggest weekly income for Italy is only 4830 points anyway, so it wouldn't take much of a chunk out of that 2800 point loss)

The size of your home gate is based on your fan support level, which is affected more by derby games but those games have no immediate effect on the number of people that turn up (although a good win in one of those games will bring more people to the next game)

Well it should have made some difference, since you no longer have to pay his weekly wage.

There are a few things you can do to try and improve your balance sheet (difference between income and outgoings) but even all of them together may not be enough to save your season:

1. set ticket prices to high (this may be counter-productive until you get your fan support over 90)

2. sell a couple of overpaid bench players (which may also be problematic once you start to get fixture congestion, but your remaining players will just have to earn their wages by playing tired)

3. renegotiate the contracts of your higher paid players, possibly adding bonuses to reduce the standard weekly wage, especially for midfielders who dont (in my experience) score very often (of course, this one has a down side too, in that morale can be adversely affected for players that think they're underpaid, and you've got to have enough money to cover the re-signing fee, which is 60% of the player value)

4. increase your stadium manager level, thus increasing stadium capacity (which is the biggest catch-22 of all, since those upgrades are expensive, and it takes more than 70 home games to recoup the cost)
