Henry breaks record

Arsenal.com

"Thierry Henry may not have scored against Southampton, but his two assists has seen the Frenchman beat an Opta record, with no other player setting up more goals in a single season since the company began compiling statistics back in 1996.

"It remains to be seen if Henry wins the Golden Boot, but there is no doubt he will end the 2002-03 campaign with more assists than any other player."

just another reason to prove the doubters wrong.
And he's tackling too.
I'd like to see a stat on who's the best tackling forward in the Premiership.
My guess is Bellamy.

He definatly deserves that record, hes worked really hard for arsenal up forward this season and the golden boot would just top off a marvelous season.;)

Doubters? Certainly not a doubter here. Henry is quality. And I'm quite sick of all the RVN vs Henry, they're very different players. Standard critcism include RVN's lack of goals from outside 8 yards, and Henry's lack of goals from inside that range. I know I'd be thrilled if Henry played for United, I won't presume to speak for any Gunners if they had RVN.

Totally, totally agree... :) Doesn't matter if you score from inside or outside 8 yards as long as you score, right? Neither player seems to have a problem in the goal scoring dept. though :)

Yup couldn't agree more. Henry is just class. RvN has already spoken out about his lack of assists, he said that that is a part of his game he needs to improve. A better example the Henry is not here at the moment in the EPL.

Arsenal wanted to buy Van but couldnt compete with United finiacially so we bought Jeffers. Also the United scouts looked at Henry and thought that he wouldnt turn into a good player

You could tell in the game against Southampton that Henry was really pissed at what happened in the Championship.

Most notably when he shoved Higginbotham(formerly of United) into the ad boards. OUCH!

I think he was pissed about alot of things

the title, not scoring (he thought the southampton game was his last chance, Arsene says if he wants to play sunderland, he will), Being shoved around by the defenders, and have fouls called on him.

It eventually rolled into him shoving Higginbotham into the adboards.

dont get me wrong, Henry is a great player .... but he cant tackle to save his life remember France v Uruguay and weve seen a few in the EPL ... just mainly as good as any other forward player. and he cant head a ball.
But we he has the ball at his ... the boy's allllllright (H)

Henry is about the only Arsenal player that deserves any mention this year....as Henry's form faded so did the rest of the team...

Henry does try to tackle, but he's not brilliant at it, like most forwards. He is still an excellent forward, though.
