I think its Adidas' strategy to slowly change him into an Adidas guy. I see him wearing Adidas in the 2007/08 season.
Why not just change him straight to adidas? Or they want to wait for Beckham to lose some popularity and then bringing Henry?

or not.

Adidas just bought Reebok. Adidas is already doing great while Reebok could use a boost...which is what the signing of Henry brings to the table.

It makes no business sense to switch him from one brand to another under the same umbrella.

This is the only source I've found about this so far although I have heard that its being talked about on TalkSport radio here in England. Its a big deal for Reebok (Owned by Adidas) as the majority of young football players (here at least) want to be Thierry.

If you treasure football you shouldn't spread this garbage to others. This sport is becoming more about the money than the beauty of it. Who cares man, Henry is just as good with Adidas as he is with Reebok.

I think he won't be half the player that he is if this is true :jambo: :chew:

or not..... but if it WAS a move to adidas, makes no sense to put him in reebok first.

i agree. and from what i've read, the switch has more to do with how he was being marketed by nike...apparently, he wasn't happy with it...i dunno if that means he wanted to be the face of nike soccer since ronaldinho pretty much took over that. but he will be reebok's main man.

well he wont be the first high profile star for Reebok... hell be second to Ryan Giggs, Allan Iverson, 50 cent ( :nape: ) etc...

he definitely won't be second to Giggs. As for the other names you mention, how does that even compare?

thats like saying Ronaldinho will play second fiddle to Tiger Woods for Nike.

Comparing individuals in different occupations is irrelevant. Soccer fans may want to buy a shoe because of Henry. A basketball fan may want to buy what Kevin Garnett endorses. A hip hop enthusiast may want some gear which P.Diddy wears and so on.

Everthing Adidas or any sporting giant branches out into needs a face. Soccer targets a much larger consumer group than basketball and hip hop. Henry has mass appeal. He is well respected. Henry makes perfect sense to be Reebok's new image.
