This question was asked many times, and I personally needed the answer. And I found it. It's a little heavy and takes double space, but it's worthy. So. Install your FIFA. This will be your FIFA for multiplayer. Import ONLY graphics, DO NOT CHANGE THE DB! Then copy the whole data folder somewhere. Rename the existing one in the FIFA 08 folder to data*** (put whatever you want, I used data multi). Then bring the other data, which you copied somewhere back to the FIFA 08 folder. Then edit with CM or everything else. When you want to play multiplayer just rename this data to data single and data multi to just data. That way you switch in a second between the two FIFAs 
. So an example:
1. Install
2. Copy the DATA folder somewhere
3. Rename the DATA folder in your FIFA 08 directory to DATA multi
4. Bring back the DATA folder which you just copied somewhere (step 2)
5. Edit it as much as you like.
6. When you want to play multi - rename DATA to DATA single and rename DATA multi to DATA. Or reverse if you want to play your edited FIFA.
Actually it's just one install, but for both single (edited) and multiplay. If you dont understand something, just ask me here in the thread.
