I got FIFA a month ago i think. I played the matches for about a week but now all i really do is transfer players and quick sim the matches.
FIFA gameplay is just so boring. If i score a goal and there is no real excitement or sense of achievement. The passing is rubbish, shots are very unrealistic, headers are far too easy, its basically an arcade game.
PES however has excitement. It is challenging, goals are so much more rewarding which is why it is so addictive. FIFA can be completed within a couple of weeks. THere is little difference between the difficulty levels other than the opposition starts cheating and scoring very unrealistic goals. PES on the other hand is a lot harder, i had PES4 from april until september and didnt complete it. Winning anything on FIFA is too easy, there is about 10 points between 1st and last places. With PES i could lose 2 matches and lose top place which i think makes it a success. To win trophies you need skill and patience. Not just a couple of wins.
FIFA has almost everything but lacks one thing which PES has, realistic gameplay.
I always buy fifa and it did look a lot better this year, plus it has Norwich on which PES doesnt. But the Norwich team on FIFA is very undetailed so i would be better of creating them on PES. IMO FIFA abuse their licenses. THe player faces are dreadful, they havea about 20 generic faces for most players throughout the game. The players have weird blotchy faces and the hair is dreadful, its like a plastic hat. There are many kits which are wrong and look awful. Downloading one patch for PES makes it more detailed already.
FIFA is better with stadiums, croud noises which do add to the "in game experience" but the gameplay doesnt feel real, it feels like a computer game, PES doesnt. FIFA does excel on the scenery but the players appearance brings it all down.
I havent got PES5 yet because im saving it for xmas. But simply by comparing PES4 to FIFA 06 you can see that PES is much better. FIFA dissapoints every year.
