Historic World Cups

I've some downtime before I start my masters program so I'm working on historic world cups again. I've finished Qualification and Finals for 1930-1950 and have about 12 teams from the 1954 cup left to do.

I am focused on rosters. They aren't perfect as information from that era is difficult to come by, however, I feel like they are as accurate as possible while keeping in mind I want to get these teams done quickly.

Is anyone interested in helping to make some kits and minikits that are historically accurate? I use some simple generics which work fine if we have nothing else, but if we can get something more accurate, it might go a long way to recreating the environment.

I'll release what I have fairly soon.

BTW does anyone play PES 2010? If yes, have you ever seen EL Grande patch for PES 2010 (it existed for 09 as well)? It consists of nearly 300 classic teams from all eras including classic teams. Rosters can be taken from there, but I dont know whether it is possible to take the kits from PES2010 (faces out there are random mostly, so no point in taking faces)

I'm still having some trouble getting the tournaments to work properly. Oh, and I'm still using Fifa '09 (though I think '09 and '10 are relatively similar so the patch shouldn't be difficult to convert). I think I'm going to start by releasing the CMP patches of the individual teams I have. That'll give you guys something to play with while I work on it a bit more.

At present I have over 110 teams from that 14 year period. I'll see if I can post them in 1 file later today. I hope to start on 1958 later as well. Pele???

Alrighty, this is extremely rough. I'm trying to lay down a foundation for future, more polished patches.

The fantastic thing about historic patches is that the teams don't ever change. Combined with the fact that Creation Master allows us to roll over old patches into new games, the more teams I make, the easier it is for me and other come later and adjust rosters, build tournaments, change logos, make faces, kits, or make other related teams (maybe Euro championships as well as world cups?)

So my focus is on the rosters. It's the most tedious part of making these teams and I enjoy learning about these historic players (for instance did you know Joe Gaetjens played for the United States and Haiti in subsequent world cups before disappearing and never being seen again?)

Anyway, I'm just trying to share what I have so far... so here it is! Do with it what you will!

I haven't tested these patches... Backup your files:

1938 World Cup

1950 World Cup

1954 World Cup

1958 World Cup

1962 World Cup

PLEASE READ: PLEASE remember to back up your files and be careful before installing.

Also, don't install players who appear red in the patch window. Make a list of all players in red then look in your game to see why they are red. If you don't you might replace an existing player with a historic one of the same name.

I have not and cannot test this in '10. It was made for and in '09. Be careful.

Again, do with it what you will!

ATTENTION: in many parts Fifa 10 is not as simple as Fifa 09. Especially in adding National team. In fifa 10 adding National teams without their own league and local champion cause many crashes and bugs. This is the reason that we do not have as many NT patches as in past and if there is any NT or WC cup is going to be managed in a stndalone mode.
the problem is also present in retro NT teams
So, any kind of NT patch may cause a strong damage to your game, especially in "Be a Pro". Of course this American won't be resposible for it, but any1 who will ignore this wise advice.

Thanks for the heads up Mongolos. Yeah I definately don't know much about how FIFA 2010 is set up. I don't own the game and have no intention of buying it. I would strongly encourage backing your files up before trying anything.

I hope to have more of these done soon. I actually finished the entire 1958 world cup and lost it when my laptop crashed! I'm a good way through it again. Currently I"m working on qualification group 8. That leaves another 23 teams to do. Hopefully having the world cup going will motivate me. I hate redoing work. I should be in the 60s!

The question I had was whether or not you made qualification rounds. Also is it editable in Creation Master and does it work in '09 as well?

07 cmp in 08 db
08 cmp in 09 db
09 cmp in fifa 10 db :)

working with no problem....

Yeah Qualification is a big deal for me in part because I'm a yank and for 40 years we didn't qualify for the cup. Anyway, I make my patches very quickly and they are rough but functional. They are no where near the quality that you create. However, if you wanted to use any of them either to improve with better graphics or w/e, you are more than welcome to. It helps to have something to start with rather than trying to complete everything from scratch.

I just added 1958 world Cup to that 5th post or so on which I have all the tournaments listed. Read the instructions carefully and remember it was made in CM09 FOR '09.
