What do the Home and Away auto-switching meters do in the settings?

Also what does the Power-up speed change (never known that )

Home/away switching refers to how quickly the cpu will auto switch your defenders for you as the cpu advances the ball.

Power Up speed refers to the meter that appears when you shoot/lob/thru ball

Lowering the Power Up seems to help in free kicks especially (I tend to get most of my fk's on target now).

I hate the auto switch, it's quite annoying. I have it all the way down.

it is most realistic and greater control on lowest setting

it's best to have power up on high because it is quicker to pass and shoot - however takes greater skill as you need to be more precise, but to be the best possibly player you need power up bar on highest, as it is the fastest way to pass

Power Up Speed is the energy you have to run,

And the Home Away Auto Switching i thought was the time in which it'll set up team sides for your team if your playin home or away it will auto switch sides.
