How do u I prevent the comp from stealing my headers?

When u send a long ball upfield, how u make your player head the ball first or chest the ball without the opposition taking it away?

90% of the time the comp steps in front of u right before your able to head the ball or chest it down. I hardly get to head it as the comp just steps infront.. How do i stop that?

how do I hold of the comp and chest down the ball?

its a built in cheat you can't get in front of them , Ive seen it ! The Cpu player stands his ground and in the animations as the ball comes down, my player who was standing next to the cpu player , moves round behind him (and Ive not even touched the controls to move him , its automatic)...


PES is easily the best football game ever , but that does not mean it doesn't have its faults and there are quiet a few..

um no...

right before the ball gets to you, just like in real football, you maually mover your player in position ( R1+R2=Super Cancel ) And as you're in front you hold down R2 to chest the ball down, or press whatever pass/shoot button you want at the time...there is no cheat; use super cancel it'll do a world of good.

mm yea use super cancel. But when i play online and im hosting i ALWAYS loose 70% of the headers. Even when the opponent is a total noob and i win him 8-0 he still manages to win most headers.
When im client (even with lag) I win much more headers, and the headers actually go the direction im pressing, when hosting the ball goes in the feet of the opponent.
This is highly suspicous!

( R1+R2=Super Cancel ) another Konami feckup , why on earth should you have to press two buttons at once just to un freeze your player.. yeah life like that!


Super Cancel should be done away with and this cheat or if bug should be sorted !!


I see it in PES4 going to a 50/50 ball with the cpu , I have my player running at the ball the cpu is coming in from the other side, and all of a sudden my player stops dead in his tracks and this lets the cpu get to the ball 1st. At no time during the run to the ball do I take my finger off the sprint button or the analog sitck which control the direction my player is running in , but no matter, the cheat/bug stop my player mid run and even makes him turn to the side ...

There should be no need for Super Cancel ...

i agree, but super cancel doesnt always works. A lot of times i use super cancel, to make my player run to the freakin ball, but all of a sudden the cpu blocks my super cancel and my player is just doing the animation when u slightly tilt the analogue stick, like side stepping. Its impossible that im doing that by myself since im playing with the digital pad!!!! :kader:

i prefer using super cancel, its been there since the beginning of the WE series ( THE VERY BEGINNING ) so for those of us who have been playing since the very first game, we're used to it and to change that would be EA like in my opinion.

Sure there are things that bother us; but there's a difference between noticing bugs than tracking them down like you guys have been stating for the sake of establishing your point. I'm not saying Konami have anything wrong, but I love this game more than any game I've ever played soccer-wise. These minor problems that are simple to fix manually then its just somethign to work on in the next version.

As I recell, supercancel was introduced around PES2, using just R2 to allow you to move your guy to challenge for high balls. It was changed in the next version to R1+R2 so that you could supposedly control your guuy at all times, stop him going on railtrack runs after balls clearly going out of play, etc. The problem has always been that it only works sometimes.

I don't mind the idea of supercancel, it's like you have to make the extra effort of pressing more buttons like the player would have to make the extra effort to push and jump for a high ball. But Konami's implementation has always been poor as it sometimes fails to make your guy move at all.

All bull**** men, ''supercancel'' by first is a very wrong name for it. Cause i dont use it when i wanna cancel or something like that. I just use it all the time cause then the players dont bug. If u dont use r1.r2 the game is filled with bugs and ****. Also if u use r2 u can push the defender a little so u can get in front of him, and u just have to push the X button when the ball has gone in the air. I do it all automatic with every attack that i try and i can all recommend u guys to try and use it cause pes4 is easier that way

I just use R2 to gain position as good as I possible can while the ball is swinging over and then once it comes close I just push square and hold the direction to which way I want to head it... I let go of R2 as well

This game is all about timing on everything... once you learn that, everything comes together
