How good is Josmer Altidore?

I'm just starting to follow MLS and haven't gotten a chance to watch him play (this one televised game a week business really sucks). What I do know is that he is a 17 year old forward who has three goals and three assists for the third ranked team (power rankings). This is pretty exciting as our national team desperately needs players who can score. Is he supposed to have a bright future? Can we expect him to be good in 2014 or maybe even 2010? And how come he hasn't started the last few games? He started the first seven or something like that and now he's on the bench.

He's pretty good for his age I guess, he's definitly got potential. I think with some luck we can expect his game to get even better, then he'll be really great. With youngsters you gotta give them their time on the bench and first team experience as well.
