How To Change The Default Controller Settings Permanently?

This has been a problem for a couple of years now and I'm looking for a way to put it to bed.

So the game loads up the first players settings based on their profile which is fine, however there seems to be no way for the second player to change their settings permanently, meaning that they need to alter the settings from the default every time the game boots up. This is obviously very tedious.

So I had a thought, a workaround could be changing the default settings to whatever player two's settings would normally be. Then player one's settings would just load from their profile. No problem. However I don't really know how to do this. There is no .ini file for those settings, seems like it may be hardcoded into the game. Anyone got any advice?

It is entirely possible that it's hard coded into the game. This would be awful programming but not unprecedented. You said there is no ini file for these settings. How do you know? Just looked through? It's possible it's named something really obscure or is included in a broader file. Unsure honestly about how likely this is to be fixable.

I did a search for all of the .ini files in the root directory. I then also searched through all of the "data_ini.big" using CG explorer and didn't find anything. Granted I could have overlooked something as I have little to no experience with this sort of thing.

I applaud the approach whether it's solvable or not. This is annoying as hell and I can't believe they haven't bothered to fix it. Good luck!
