its not about not wanting to help noobs, its more like noobs dont want to learn.
they say teach me, you teach them, then get confused & then the ones who can do it end up doing it all, which is the part we dont have the time for.
I can understand your sense of frustration mate, because many people are used to think that everything's granted and just come here and they will find their happy meal just made.
I can also understand that you struggle to invest your free time for free (there's no professional FIFA editor methinks), and it's time you have to steal from your friends or your other amusements when not from your family or your job (I'm cuddling my 50 days old daughter just while I'm writing this).
I wish you could understand also noobs sense of frustration when they realise the task is more complex and harder than they thought and when they end up doing it all it's a defeat for them first before than yours, and eventually is a defeat for us all. When I ended doing it all it was because editing FIFA is not a joke and I realised I should invest much more time than I could afford to do a decent job but I'm speaking for myself. It hurted me a lot and I guess it hurted all the masters that invested their precious time in me, but it was something I have to face up. I couldn't mess up my family or my job just because somebody invested his/her precious time in me.
Maybe it's something we have to work up better: noobs should have more respect for the time we invest in them but we should learn better to find out people who are worth to invest in and who are not.
By the way, school is for people that struggle to learn. People that are so smart they can get rid of masters hints and tips, they don't need school. And only heaven knows how many people were such good pupils at school as they would end such bad practicers in life, but maybe I'm going to far.
All I can say is this: if school (this forum) can't face up that many pupils could be lost on the road of the learning curve, surely much more than will make it through, it can be closed tomorrow.
Wise men were used to say: "if you want to feed your children for life, don't give them bread, give them flour instead." If there will be even one only editor who will make it through the hard process of editing, I guess every effort to make him/her rise up and the tons of flour wasted away were worth. But if this forum has become just a bread dispenser - don't matter how many and how good are the reasons that lies behind - I guess it definitely gave up the purpose it was open for, and maybe it was closed much before than the forum managers could say.
If this is the situation, we have to admit that FIFA editing is at stake and I hope everyone of us will have to reflect how we managed to sew the branch we're sitting on.
