How to disable the sun to improve frame rate

Mex

Youth Team
Running at 1600x1200 screen res, max settings... just that the frame rate goes very low when the sun shows anywhere on the screen.

So anyone already found out how to disable it? being playing with the settings at the .ini's but not luck

Fixing this plus the EA patch that is comming out will be excelent

why would u want to run it at 1600x1200 ?

reduce the resolution to something your machine can handle.

It can handle 1600x1200 easy , if i put 1024x768 runs the same and also low frame rate when the sun is shown.

So the problem its not the screen res, its the sun lighting that is too heavy.

Was it included in the demo?(The sun/Lighting blabla), Demo seem's to run alot better than my copy.

I believe the problem is not with the sun. But with the rest of the scene. Since when the sun appears, the camera are showing the whole stadium and all players ( like the goalkick cam ) that sure will have an slow down. Also did you notice the new grass effect when the camera show on, it has to be on max detailed for that to appear.
But I'm saying this only by the demo guys.. I dont have the full version yet. Can't wait !

So I believe the problem is not with the sun effect but it's a normal slowdown with that kind of resolution ( WOW 1600xxxx). I wonder if h plays that on a 14' monitor... hehehe

well the more you show on screen the slower the game gets, thats wah t happens with alot of games, but dont worry when the sun dies out in like 5 billion yrs (or when eevr ppl say it will) they wont need to put it in the game

I was only joking, sorry, I have no problems with the frame rate, I even have RENDER_EVERY_AI_FRAME = 1 DRAW_EVERY_AI_FRAME = 1 Activated in locale.ini, but no framerate loss when the sun is in the picture. What graphics card do you have? Maybe it's a FSAA setting or Antro filter

My system :

Athlon xp 2100
512 DDR
radeon 9700 pro with 128MB video

Fifa 2004 running great at all escenes except when the sun appears, it so noticeable that is a 70% frame rate drop, then it goes back to 55/60 fps .

You can enable the frame rate display configuring some .ini , also has other nice debug options, like the AI one that cant understand much lol :D.

Yes, the sunshine (or stadium light) slow down definitely affects the accuracy of some long-range free kick.
