I tried the select the tactics with D-pad from the game-pad. I watch the tutorial from the game, i press the buttons in the same order, the tactics appear, but there is no signal that I select any of them. I think I didn't select because, for example, I want to play counter attack tactic but no striker sprint forward. That's very annoying.

How to select tactics in fifa 11 while the match is running?

all i know is this,
right of left on the dpad changes the mentality to either ultra defending or ultra attacking.
up on the dpad is for defense tactics, so hit up then a direction again for the corresponding
tactic.
for attack its vice verca.
