Now im not a Man Utd fan, but really i feel Beckham belongs there, and they should do everything possible to keep him there.

To end this whole mess, and please Man Utd fans, only one simple thing has to happen.

Ferguson is much more important to Man U than Becks. Everybody points to things like shirt sales as a big way Beckham makes money for United. That is ridiculous. Merchandise sales make up a very tiny portion of Man U's revenue. The biggest chunk of their revenue comes from ticket sales at Old Trafford. If you think every game is a virtual sell out just because of Becks, you're crazy. They're a great team with a long history - that goes back way before Becks - and they win. Fielding the best possible team is the best way to ensure Man U's footballing and financial future. If that means selling Becks and bringing in some fresh talent, like Ronaldinho, so be it.

I honestly think that would be the single most retardest thing to do EVER!!! :kader:

That would be the equivalent of the Red Sox selling Babe Ruth to the Yankees. (red sox have never won a championship after. while the yankees are the most successful team of the last century.) I know its baseball but the comparison still applies.

Yeah it sure is gonna be an easy job finding a guy who can bring eight titles in eleven years and a treble winner, bring up lots of great players from their youth until they become famous, or someone who can find a player like Cantona, yeah you can find guys like that everywhere . . . ( RETARD !!!! )

Look it's obvious, Beckham is out for sure. If not, he'll be left rotting in the reserves. Sir "look at me I'm god and bigger then the club" Ferguson has decided that it was time to get rid of Beckham. Why no one knows but maybe because Beckham can't head football boots being kicked at him too well, who knows?
It's now just a matter of who offers the right money and whether Beckham agrees on personal teams. Beckham has rejected Barca, so ManUtd are probably just waiting for Real to come up with some cash.

ferugson is like what? 80? he's going to retire soon. beckham brings in $$$$$ for the club, he's got more year's in him, he attracts crowds and publicity and he's england captain. sure, go ahead, sell him and keep your manager .........

There is no doubt that Beckham belongs at United, but Ferguson has a genuinely proven track record as manager and getting rid of him would be idiotic.

Ferguson has done it before. He sold Sparky Hughes, Kanchelskis and Paul Ince, and everyone thought he was mad. What happened? Double in 1995/6 and Treble in 1998/9.

Hope hed oesn't leave, I'll have to change my sig if he goes :kader: .

Nah not really thats not why I dont want him to leave. He has played for Man Utd for the whole of his career and it would be really dissapointing for him to leave :( . Althugh Man Utd won many matches without him he is still part a the team and Man Utd would lose a part of the jigsaw if he leaves :( .

OK, let`s see this whole damn thing from a bussiness point of view. Beck`s contract is only about for two seasons left, by the time it ended, he will be 30 years old, a pretty old crack for a midfielder especially whose job is keep on runnin` on the wing for at least 65 matches in a year. I guess offerin` a 100000 pounds a week for more four years to an old tired horse would not be a very good bussiness decision. If Beckham decides to leave when his contract ended, Man U will get no **** money for him, so sell him when he is at his most expensive so with the money gained we can buy younger players, with averagely less cheaper wage, but still fairly good and will develop well with the club. Fergie on the other hand is not 80, in fact he is younger than the 70 year old Robson. And he can still do pretty good job for Man U ( cos` he only manage, not playin` . . . ). This is all simple bussiness, I know, I know, some smart ass logic twat probably comin` here and says how it`s ridiculous blah, blah, blah, and that it is more logic that Fergie plays God or whateva`, but people like that don`t know no **** `bout pro-football bussiness. It`s not about boots got kicked on your head nor about some old manager fear that one of his boy gain more popularity than him, it`s purely `bout the freakin` money . . .

Personaly I'm really sick of all this.
everytime I put SkySports News on its 20 minutes per 1/2hour about beckham. ...
Transfer sagas that last and last and last have a proven record of hardly never completing. I just hope this story was done with and they'd just get it done ... cos its either Real or man U.
people representing bex have really got the knack of it this tme round managing to put him in evry story every day when hes not even around

I think some people here are too naive thinking that both Beckham and Fergie are like 12 year old becoming enemy one another just because some childish incident. Once again, this whole damn transfer is got nothin` to do with that boot kicked. It was an accident, and they`re both grown up men who knows how to put personal stuffs different with their professional life. Best left, Cantona left, Pallister left, and maybe Beckham will too, but club`s life goes on. Some people here make it look like as if Beckham leaves then the whole Man U will crumble. Man U does not evolve around Beckham, nor Ferguson. Sooner or later you know that we will have to let some players go, even Beckham. Grow up people, this is just bussiness and money as usual. And I don`t think a single party can change it, cos` like I said we are not talkin` about children and their stolen candies here, but a grown up professional football with his club star and 30 million pounds between them.

If getting rid of Becks will also get rid of the Beckham supporters that take up seats at Old Trafford that would normally go to people that support Man Utd then that would probably be a good thing.

Man Utd were filling their stadium before Beckham came along, and they would easily do so 2 or 3 times over without him again.

Besides Beckham's commercial worth to United isn't all that huge. I'm not sure if someone said it on these forums or if I read it somewhere else but 7% of United's revenue comes from merchandising. You can imagine the dent on that if Beckham left, let's say Beckham acounts for 1/3 of the merchandising (and I'm probably being generous there even though he would be the #1 player in the merchandising stakes), that would take it down to just over 2.3%, which would be made up in the transfer value and that doesn't take into account a player we might buy with that money.

If Ronaldinho comes in, which is possible even though I feel it's less probably than it was 3 weeks ago, then that would easily be cancelled out, because Ronaldinho is one of the most marketable footballers in the world too... and that's without publicity stunts being pulled by a talentless wife. (Although I do think Beckham's one of the best footballers around).

The funniest thing about this saga is that the same people that vilified Beckham 5yrs ago when Man Utd stood by him when effigies were being burned and most hacks would have been glad to see him out of England, are the same people that are defending him to the hilt now.

I'll be sad to see him go, a United supporter all his life that gives his all in every game. But the circus that surrounds him is getting all to much perhaps, and he's done nothing to ease the situation despite have advice and warnings that he needs to calm that side of it down from Ferguson in that past.

No player goes before the team, but a manager makes the team.

Fergie clearly is right for the job, but he also needed time to turn United round, when he initially joined the club. United finished eleventh in 86/87, runners up in 87/88, again eleventh in 1988/89. The promise of 87/88, and some of the signings he had made, would soon come true.

He turned United from a mid-table team, into champs.
In United's about 125 years they won about 45 titles of some sort and in Fergison's 16 years so far he won 23 of them.
