Well, not me, but these two articles:

Player Attributes Explained
FM2011 Training Masterclass

You might THINK you know how attributes work, but you probably don't REALLY know how they work. For example, it seems that the most important attribute for any player is Decisions, and that a 19 in this category can make up for mediocre stats everywhere else. If you combine it with composure, determination, off the ball, technique, and teamwork, the guy can pretty much be **** in everything else and still be a star. Seriously.

As for training... it's so damn tedious, but if you want to do it right, do it right.

Cool, thanks for the link. I can't believe I haven't researched this in nearly 10 years of CM/FM experience. That's a bit of a ''faux pas'', isn't it? This changes the way I look at a player's profile entirely. Very interesting.

I'll get to the training stuff later... haha.

Edit - Just searched my Dukla game, and it's incredibly hard to come by a player with NEAR perfect decision making skills. There isn't a single player with a 20, and only four players with a 19. Two of them are Paulo Henrique and Yann M'Vila, and both happen to have incredible skills to go with it. (The other two are regens; some mediocre goalkeeper and midfielder.)

The perfect center core of a team? Because of their age the physical stats are obviously a bit on the down side, but these two should be instant purchases at the start of the game for any big team.

Haven't even opened the articl,e but every edition of FM I play I invetiage the attributes and it's always something different that seems to be the most important. Work Rate, Creativity, Determination, Stamina, Technique and now Decisions. Considering that I've always valued Mental Attributes more anyway, these sort of things are hardly revelating. Always interesting to read, though.

good to know, but this is what makes FM more of a game, and less of a simulation ... I prefer to value what I value; if the game algorithm is something else, so be it, but I won't pander to it ...

You can train decisions in the individual training focus, and I'm pretty sure it goes up with tutoring from a good decision maker as well. It makes sense why most 17 year old regens don't start with this very high because 17 year olds in real life very rarely (or maybe never) make great decisions at an elite level of competition.

That's kind of true, yes, but you could also look at it like most of the best players in the world (like if you sort by decisions over 15) have very high decision making. There are a few players who overcome their bad decisions with elite talent (Torres for example), but essentially the top players all have the key mental attributes (and definitely Decisions). It's kind of like in the book Moneyball, are we selling jeans or are we building a sports team? The most talented players aren't always the best players (see: Queresma), and it works the other way too (although this is hard to give examples for because we tend to overrate the ability of these guys). Obviously when you combine the two you get someone like Messi or Maradona who's transcendent.

I have no idea how investigate became invetiage. But revelate exists so I assumed revelating did as well. That and **** off.
