Two teams played for a spot in the brazilian Série A: Náutico and Grêmio (who won the Libertadores twice). Even though Náutico was playing home, Grêmio had the draw advantage.

In the 1st half Náutico wasted a PK.

In the 2nd half, Grêmio was playing with 10 men and had another penalty called against them at 80'. In this moment, the players went mad and starting facing off the ref, some kicking and pushing him. Result: 3 more expulsions and 20 minutes of total mess.

When finally all the mess stopped, Náutico could take the PK, which they lost. Believe it or not, in a counter attack Grêmio scored a goal and won the match playing with 7 men in the field, being the champions of the Série B.

A team playing away with 7 men scores a goal and wins the match, with the home team wasting 2 PK. Have you ever seen something like this?

Oh, I forgot to say: Náutico will be another year in the Série B since Santa Cruz won their match and got the 2nd spot to the Série A.

that's some crazy ass **** though, I'll bet the ref wasn't expecting that to happen, and probably wasn't too pleased either :(

funny how the weirdest things always happen to Gremio...
I remember when they played 3 matches in the same day... for the same competition, Rio Grande do Sul State Championship...

Dec 11 1994:
2pm > 0-0 vs. Aymore
4pm > 4-3 vs. Santa Cruz (RS)
8pm > 1-0 vs. Pelotas...

Serious action there. We had something similar here in a match between Singapore & Myanmar. Halfway thru extra-time Singapore got a penalty & all hell broke loose. In the end, 5 Myanmar players, 3 on the pitch & 2 on the bench subs got sent off. The sub-keeper took the whole show. He flung a water-bottle all the way from the side-lines & it caught a Singapore player right on his cheek. The guy needed stitches I think. Craziest crap I'd ever seen.........before this :jap:

It was some crazy ****. I've heard it on the radio, and the narrator was from Rio Grande Do Sul (Grêmio's state). When Galato saved the 2nd penalty he went mad. And then Anderson simply received a pass from a FK, rushed inside the area, and scored with incredible speed. And Grêmio won the game 1-0 with 7 men on the pitch!

Not to mention the policemen had to enter the field to prevent the referee from dying in the Grêmio's players hands. :lui:
