I feel like punching the pre game editor in the face.

I don't get it.

I'm on CM4 02-03.

I get the Pre Game Editor.

So i want to create my own player... i just pick some random player i don't care for, in effect, Frédéric Piquionne from Rennes. I turn him into the player i want him to be. I click on Save Changes. So far so good. My player exists when i search him in the Pre Game Editor.

Now i launch a quickstart with Rennes. Who do i see ? Piquionne. Quick Searching the player i created gave no result. He doesn't goddam exist.

How can this be ? Does the pre game editor only work for 03-04 ? For example, i left my player's preferences blank, like favoured staff etc, since that doesn't exist in my CM. But the pre game editor still managed to get into my database, which means that they must be compatible, no ?

Can anyone shed some light ? thanks.

The pregame editor does work. The problem is that the quickstarts are really games that are saved before adding the manager. The database changes aren't in them.
You'll have to really start a new game to see the effects.

Because i was wondering... the whole point of me creating a player was to see what a superhuman player with 20's everywhere would do on a pitch..out of curiosity... So i gave him 20's everywhere except GK capacities.

However, i didn't change his ability, which was 131, but moved his potential up to 200.

Does this effect my editing in any way ?

Well, I started a real game with Rennes. Still Piquionne. I get it not.

The 131 ability does definitely lower the stats. You'll see when it works.

Did you save the data after editting?

put someones stats at 200/200 and all his stats to 20, done

On the Mind Compression site you can download MCM4 which will work with Champ Man 4.
