I don't know which filedates it has coz I forgot to check but it's a ver. 1.02.

It has:

Updated kits.
Updates rosters.
New teams.
Clubs have proper team badges instead of national flags (BETA people know what I'm talkin about :) )

Here is how you check SLowdown problems

Play ManU vs Madrid in Old Trafford

Camera= WIDE
Angle= 9

Does it still lag??? only alittle????

Because in WE8 it's like playing in SUPER SLOW mode. If there is slowdown I hope it's minimal since it doesnt really bother me.

you better convert to the power of the pc! :rockman:

i know you'll get pissed for this msg :p

I thought you were going to say convert to the power of Xbox...but WE/PES on the PC! -- heh, no way, man, you PC guys are just bent.;)

All you "early adopters," thanks for the feedback. PES4 = No slowdowns :rockman:

Call me old school, but I'm actually gonna buy this sh*t. Time to put the pre-order in!

Between WE8, PES4, J-League and ultimately WE8:I, Konami's shaking my ar$$e down, man.

No slowdowns really (Y)

The gameplay is exactly the same though. The only difference is in the shooting system. It's now back to the old way : very sensitive shot button, or you sky the ball. In WE8 it was pretty hard to pull a hard shot.

Now I can start a master league :p

So which shooting system do you prefer bud'? WE8 or PES4 ?

Hard to say, I was getting used to WE8's, and now I have to re-adapt to the old one. I like them both.

Hmm.. to answer clearly, I prefer the old one, at least I can throw some hard strikes now.

From the videos, J-League's gameplay is updated :)

But that's unsual from Konami, since WE5, PES games were different in terms of gameplay from their original japenese versions.

Now they were concentrated on updating rosters and they kept the same gameplay.. apart from tweaking the shots.. That's disappointing.

Well, I didn`t expect anything different from WE8 to PES4 other than updated rosters and some kits that was it. However, WE8 offers best (most realistic) gameplay EVER so people playing PES4 shouldn`t complain about gameplay. I`m sure WE8JL will have "minor" tweaks in terms of gameplay but the real and only improvement could be in WE8-I or WE8:FE, since we never know what Konami is doing. PES4 on X-BOX should be interesting aswell.

no he is still at ajax. it seems they have missed a few transfers like:

danny murphy still at liverpool
jeffers still at arsenal
forlan/rooney still at man utd
woodgate still at newcastle

at least they have some of the more major transfers in i.e. most of the chelsea team, owen, alan smith, deco, larson, guily which weren't in we8.

the international teams are the same as in we8. still no update with retired players i.e. scholes, zidane, thuram etc

also as far as i can tell (i've only played a few times) the tackling has also been improved. players dont always jump in and land on their bums like in we8. other than that, i dont think there will be much improvement to the actual gameplay, expect it to be like we8 but without the slowdowns.

as usual, the dutch, german, welsh and chzec teams have "fake" names.

who knows, may konami will get annoyed with this and update the game in the very last minute to get there own back on those who have it early.

(let hope so) :hump:

Where the noobs sayin PS2 can't handle PES4, at? Where the noobs at now??? Hahahahahahhaa!!!!!!!!!! :mrpimp: :hump: :rockman:

I love being RIGHT. :D
Here I am :D
Konami themselfs said they were at the limits of the playstation's capabillities, so I blamed the slowdowns to that. Well done Konami with optimizing the code and removing the slowdown :)
The minor slowdowns some people still see, may indeed have to do with an older type Playstation...
What I think Konami did (I am programmer, so I know what ways there are to optimizing things) is that they cutted some sprites in the animation-sequence of the players. If you do that with 21 players in a packed penalty-area you may remove slowdowns.
Not sure of course, but I would do it that way :)
Did you notice a slight increase in speed of the game? Could have to do with what I just explained.... ;)
(BTW I still think that the PS2 cannot handle on-line for this game; THAT really would be too much).

why would they do that? do you think that when the game is officially released, it won't immediately be made available on the warez scene?
