Why me???? Why is it that no soccer games are ever broadcast on USA national tv?? I don't have cable, and i see maybe a hand full of crappy mls games, and 2 or 3 usa national games a year. what did we do wrong??? WHY DOES NASCAR GET A MULTI YEAR CONTRACT, AND NOT PREMIER LEAGUE, OR ITALIA????? what have we done wrong??? if only soccer jesus was here to help us find the way back to quality soccer :( :f***: :kader:

Because:

1)the vast majority of Americans couldn't care less about soccer
2)soccer games do not have timeouts, which makes it difficult to generate revenue from commercials
3)TV networks don't have the balls to try and show world class soccer on a regular basis to see if it catches on

There's a Champions League game on ESPN2 every now and then (I assume you have ESPN2 since you say you've watched MLS games).

MLS is not that bad. I know how you feel having only MLS to watch while missing out on world class soccer but this season I will watch MLS as well as the games on FSW. It's going to be the best season yet, many great players joining, or returning to the league. And if that's not good enough for you, get Fox Sports World! :) :O

i think there should be a forum all about why the US sucks at showing games.

it seems many people are unhappy with this, i know i am.

Well, it's a similar case here is Australia.

But at least we get five and a half hours of football every sunday arvo, a live EPL match sat night/sun morning and a ECL replay on thursday nights.

It's still pretty bad though, besides SBS(The broadcaster who shows the above things) no other shows any of it, unless it involves Becks, then it gets about 5 secs.

However the WC 2002 was a big success as it was shown live during prime time on one of the three big networks. As a result the idiots who run them actually saw what the potential was.

I think a figure of around 6-8 million tuning into the final of a population of around 20 million is pretty good for an alleged non-football nation.

It's the sleeping giant in australian sport, once Soccer Australia finds there feat.

As for now, I am enjoying Pay-TV

With Italian, Scotish, Spainish, MLS, Epl, Champs League, Uefa Cup, etc etc

I don't watch soccer games alot here in the US since I've been here 4 yrs ago; except the exclusive WC 2002 coverage on ESPN / ESPN-2 / ABC of course. Only ESPN-2 that shows CL alive every Tuesday.

Some Spanish-TVs like Galavision now exclusively shows live matches UNCAF Cup (Central Zone Qualifications for Gold Cup 2003), so, it's good for me to fulfill my hunger in soccer. :p

Maybe you should get a cable like FSW.

considering America is supposed to be the land of freedom and choice they seem remarkably blinkered to the fact that the most popular sport in the world is in fact "soccer" and not their form of football. They've got their head up their backside, the only thing they are interested in from an international point of view is oil. No offence to American soccer fans.

AMERICAAAA we love you
How many people are proud to be citizens of this beautiful country of ours
the stripes and the stars and the rights that men have died for to protect
the women and men who broke their necks for the freedom of speech the United States government is sworn to uphold
or so we're told

I never would have thought in a million years I'd see, so many...

Yeah. The last two times ive been there (the last two years) i was amazed at how little football there is.

Apart from the six hours on SBS there is nothing. Not even any soccer whatsoever on the six oclock news.

But i do know that in Australia if you buy Foxtell tv you can get champions league matches :mrpimp:
