Hey don't get me wrong, I'm not too bothered if I can edit everything...but that's not what someone trying to decide which football game to buy is going to think when he looks at PES2.

I just wonder whether anyone at Konami is going to get sacked for this. Cos they really should be... this is going to devastate sales of PES2. It takes a couple of hours to get into the subtleties of the gameplay...it only takes 5 minutes to look at the club teams, listen to the commentary and laugh out loud. Watch sales of FIFA suddenly pick up again!

Oh and btw, I wasn't saying Han is making anything up! I was just wondering if he could have been sold a beta by some shop by "mistake"...but probably not if it's at a big chain shop.

Official release date is earlier in Holland....could it be that Holland has released the beta version, while the rest of Europe waits a few days and gets an up-to-date version? Possibly because, in a country where everyone's name is Oranges00etc, they figured that editing names was going to be a pretty big part of the game for anyone who bought it...?

But I'm just clutching at straws.....I think this is the final version for Europe and Konami have just lost everyone except their already-converted fans (like us) and blown their big chance of consolidating their status as number 1...

Not what I think. I have seen a stack of over 100 copies of PES 2 all in the original cellophane.
I even have the original Dutch manual , made the same way as that from PES 1, which convince me it is no beta.

firstly, i agree MORE than 100% with Pere!

secondly, i dont want to buy the game now anymore however i probably will cos i have sworn myself to buy PES2. i was pretty sure that Konami gives us updated rosters and ability to swap players in the edit menu like in we6JL but they dont.

right now, i m just pissed off even more than pere and the rest of us who wanted updated rosters and a decent editor so badly.

if we could simply swap the players tween clubs i would not give one f'uck about the rosters being outdated.

you only had to copy the line of code from a game you already released, namely we6jl and add that to the editor code of pes2. it's simple as that. only COPY the line of code.

Are you 100% sure that it's the final European release that you have? I'm not trying to trip you up or doubting you here, but the European release is sponsored by umbro, unlike the japanese release which has adidas sponsorship. Just seems a bit wierd to have an adidas screen. If it is the final European version umbro are gonna be pissed.

One other thing: With the editor, just how much can you change the club kits? Liverpool are probably going to look terrible so If possible I'd like to change stuff like the shape of the badge, shirt pattern etc. Is this kind of thing possible or is it only possible to edit colour and basic design?

just been playing the KALISTO rip at a mates house & i luvd it ... i havent played we6 but ive seen videos of it & well i cant tell the difference ... but thats just me i havent played it there prolly are many differences ... i dont know wat some of these ppl are saying about the game speed some ppl are saying its WAY too fast some ppl are saying its too slow? basically the same speed as PES ... but im confused .. in the screenshots ronaldo had the triangle haircut ... he dont no more , beckham has his old crap hair ... n then u got the adidas screen & the umbro ball being used ... & its still got the JFA screen? oh & another little niggle that seems to be fixed is the nets animations ... they dont lose shape anymore .. not THAT important but pleasing none the less

i will get this game along with WE6 ... see what the diff is ..

the KALISTO rip is a warez version of the game... came out somethin like 2 weeks ago i think ... anyway apparenlty its exactly the same as the final which is in some stores now & yer ... gotta look into the warez scene if you want it

One other thing: is dribbling easy in the hardest level(ML extreme) cause i read it was wyat too easy(kind of like FIFA)?

i've got pes2 (same shop as han got it from) it is the same game as the kalisto version only you hear the crowd a lot more then the rip version it seems to be a little slower then the rip (gameplay) no updated rosters as han said (compaire to we6)

but han i don't see the base copy to club teams ? strange can you explain ?

Official word from Konami Europe
Call them your selves if you don't believe me...

No one in Europe has any rights to sell the game before Friday. (as agreed by terms of store purchase contracts.)
Konami have shipped the game to all the stores only today. And no one before today has gotten any official stock from Konami.

And finally there will be only one version for the whole of Europe which comes directly from the European head offices.
