Alright, at the moment, I am living in North America, I will be moving back to Brazil at the end of the year though. I just got FIFA 2004 yesterday and there are some things I am not satisfied about: Such as slowdowns and how easy it is to score from long range. I just got PlayStation2 a week ago, and along with that Winning Eleven 6, which I enjoyed very very much. My question is, and I need an unbiased opinion about this, is: Should I return my FIFA 2004, continue playing Winning Eleven 6, use the money from FIFA 2004 to buy Final Fantasy X-2 and when Winning Eleven 7 comes out, buy it. Please help

Do yourlself a favoure and buy PES3 or WE7 if you want a real soccer game that actually plays like real soccer, just like the one that we watch on tv. But if you want EA style soccer than thats your loss.
Don't forget there are 2 different kinds of soccer games out, one is the real one that we watch on tv and the other one is the EA style.

i dont understand
Ok, i have been browsing these forums for a few weeks now. I keep seeing how fifa sucks, or WE and PES are sooo much better. EA soccer is not realistic, its arcade, etc. Do these people actually play soccer ? Just watching it on TV doesnt make you an expert on judging how realistic a video game is compared the real thing.
I have never played any other soccer games except EA so I cant comment on the quality of the other games. What I do know, from 20 years of experience from playing the game, EA is not arcade style and unrealistic. Sure, 99% of ALL games will have something in them that you just know cant be pulled off in real life. Its a game, period. Its not going to be 100% accurate 100% of the time.
Play on the hardest difficulty level, against the best teams. EA did a good job of re-creating the soccer ( or football, however you choose to say it ) experience, and putting that into a game.
If you have a difference of opinion, please post it, and state the reasons you disagree. Please dont just post : EA SUX ! PES IS BETTER.
Crap like that doesnt hold water any better than noodles do.

I used to think just like you untill I played ISS2 on PSX, then I bought WE6i here in NA for my PL2. After playing the konami games, I noticed how unrealistic all I mean all fifa games are (except 98 and 99). If you havn't played PES3 or WE7, there are movies that you can watch, I suggest you to at least watch them and see how the gameplay and the ball physics are much more superior to fifa. I m not just saying fifa sux, I m listing the major, major problems it has.
unrealistic passing, feels like a pinball, just play PES and you will find out how realistic the passing is. This makes it an arcade not a sim.
Shots are like bullets sometimes, very unrealistic in my openion.
The keepers, man they act like amatour keepers, easy to score from long range most of the time. Again this makes it an arcade not a sim.
Almost every freekick troubles my keeper and either the CPU scores or my keeper punches the ball out.
About the CPU, every team plays the same way, attacking with through balls, nothing else. I seen the CPU come from the wings also but havn't seen them crossing the ball, but instead they do their through balls again even from the wings.
IMO these are the major problem. Obveousely there are more, like the game wasn't completed in some areas, EA forgot to add the button conf area. And yet they did alot of promises on some cool features which we didn't see them like the dynamic weather...
How can I play a game like that? Its awfull. If you can't notice all these major problems which all takes the real feel of soccer away from the game, I don't know man, I really suggest you to try PES3 on PC

All I wanna say is, download the PES 3 demo and give it a shot. You may like it, you may not but it's definitely worth a shot.

Why are you here? why do you even come here?... blah blah blah... Man look at my name and you would understand why I m here in this fifa 2004 forum. I am a true soccer maniac. Started to play soccer when I was 7 and now I am 27. For the past 20 years soccer was my everything and continues to... Since I don't play any other games, I would love to have few soccer games to play. But since EA can't develop a playable soccer game, all I can do here is complain. Who is bothering you? I m complaining to EA not to you. If you can't take critisizes then you shoule get the hell out of here. Its a free world, specially where I live and I have the right to complain..

And your point is?
There aren't too many bad things to say really. But if you really want to here some then:
1-Too resource intestive to play (no KaZaA in the background)
2-Sound could use some work
3-Not a lot of licenses
4-When players shoot, they don't shoot in stride. If you look at the replays you known exactly when you have pushed the shoot button
5-Controlling the ball when at knee height is limited

I haven't played PES even once in my whole life, but it doesn't seem like PES fans spent more time on this forum....it is just that there are more PES fans (than FIFA's) out there and the number is still growing. definitely will give PES a shot!
This thread is for helping the guy with some decision. Well, as it I'm concerned, stay with PES3, 'cause it has better gameplay, real gameplay and that's the most important thing in a football simulator. Myself, a Fifa fan, decided to try PES 3, and this year I'm gonna buy it for sure.
