I Need Help

recently i got back in the FM 'grove' and started a game with Newcastle. that lasted for a few days but i lost interest because i would have rather been in charge of an EPL club with less money.

so, i attempted to start a new game, but over the 2-3 attempts FM froze. i thought it was because of a few new kits+faces i added so i got rid of them and tried again, but FM kept freezing.

i then figured my last hope was reinstalling, but that freezes too  . can anyone tell me why this is happening and how i can fix it? thank you very much for your time.

Leave the computer alone and do something else for 15 minutes. It always freezes for me when you start a new game but it works after leaving it for a while.

Mine sometimes does that if i mess around whilst its creating a new game, nowadays i just leave it for 20 minutes or so and it works dandy (H).

Meh, i dont time it, just a phrase, but i reckon it's probably around that mark.

512 mb ram, 2ghz. (Sempron 3000+ :$ )

I was thinking about starting a new game soon actually, i'll time it next time (H)

i've done that in the past, but then i update my ddb so often it's not worth it :(

although these days it's quite quick to load a game for me (4 leagues on normal ddb size), and i can surf the net at the same time aswell - this is even easier when FM is windowed (why i can do with my hench new 19" monitor (H))

mine usually takes 30 mins to create a new game, either way id totally uninstall, reinstall, get the latest patch and then start a new game and go watch an episode of Friends.

Thats quite a good idea with the save actually (H) But i just normally leave the game in the background creating itself whilst i browse around and go on msn.

hey i dont mind, i remember the days of CM2 and waiting for it to create a new game (45 mins) and also, people forget that it had to update at the end of every season (another 45 mins), nevermind saving.

CM2, Haha i swapped the first version i owned of that for a different disc at the shop, thinking it was faulty. I thought it crashed whilst the game was creating. But the new one i got did the same, so i only played quickstarts until i discovered that i just had to leave it for ages :(.

so anyways........

i feel like an idiot. i did as you all said and just waited, checking back every 10 minutes and finally after an hour it was ready. it usually only takes 20-30 minutes so that's why i freaked out.
