I Played PES4 Last Saturday + Info

Well i'm sure most of you know about the Pro Evo National League that's been running all year? Anyway the final was last Saturday at Stamford Bridge, with the top 4 players from the 10 leagues across the country in the grand final, including myself

Anyway Konami had 2 pods there with PES4 playable! Here's the bad news first, although not really bad:

It was exactly the same as WE8 gameplay wise, and this includes the dreaded slowdown on corners. I only had a quick game though.

The good news (that I've learned since):

Someone asked the bloke running the final about it. He said it was a beta version, when the final release is out, the slowdown will have gone AND also transfers up to the 1st September deadline!

As I only had a quick game with Juve, I didnt check the rosters but i've been told since that it had the new Premiership teams in, and updated transfers from WE8.

great news! Yeah! I bet u didn't have option to check menus etc. Will there be real boots? And for god sake a greek stadium! They should put oaka it looks sweet now. And i'ts very big.

I'm not too worried about the slowdowns. Especially for the pc version. PES 3 runs fine here, pretty smooth, no slowdowns, the speed of the game is just perfect on my machine.

from what I read no online mode in PES4
only for XboX exlusive (money own the world and Bill pays good money ;))

i know but i'm afraid a word "exlusive" in it
exlusive means only for one platform and there are 4 main gaming platforms: PS2, GameCube, XboX and PC; if not only XboX would have online mode it wouldn't be exlusive for them

demo is released for the ps2 version in the uk on september 17th. pre-order from virgin megastores and pay 1.99 to get your demo.

WE8 will be released in Korea this week, I dunno if it will have any tweaks over the Japanese version. Dunno if it will have English as a language either :confused:

It's too sad to see that most people care more about the graphics or the rosters in ProEvolution4 than the gameplay itself.I don't remember in ANY previous PE pressing the run button and seeing your player following an opponent (most of the times with a circular whole movement instead of a straight line with the result never be able to steal the ball) or while running suddenly to see your player jogging (especially when making a lob,see it for yourself,this happens almost everytime in ProEvolution3).Or what about the goalkeepers who are REALLY a joke to ProEvolution3,in fact the worst i've ever seen.Oh wait here is and something more,how about when you are passing to someone else and the ball goes to a nearby player who has nothing to do with the player you were aiming.Damn even some corners seem to be scripted and i'm really sad to saying this,but one of the things that made ProEvolution what it is it's the gameplay,the unscripted pure gameplay.
Too put it simply.ProEvolution3 has way too many gameplay issues,in fact more than ever (AND YES IT'S STILL PRESENT FROM THE FIRST GAME THE ANNOYING STOPPING REACTION OF YOUR PLAYER WHEN YOU'RE CHASING THE BALL WITH THE OPPONENT).I really don't care for the rosters or the graphics,all i want is Konami to fix the bloody bugs.Damn seems ProEvolution/WE series has really lost it's way after going on full attack with Fifa in every system,bad move Konami.......really bad move.

PS:As for ProEvolution4 just check some replays...........yes it shows that the goalkeepers are at the same level,a joke in some replays.That's why this game should have stayed on PS2 only and be tweaked for a perfect gameplay.Again really bad move Konami.

agree with you on those issues , and Im usually told use Super Cancel to get your player moving again, we shouldn't need to use SC our players shouldn't stop or slow down when running at a player trying to control a ball or to do the same when chasing a player for a loose ball..

And that passing thing is the most annoying, as you said, you see a team mate you want to pass to your facing him and you press to pass and the ball goes to or in the direction of another team mate who is usually covered.

Ive seen a few things about passing in PES4 where if you hold down the pass button, you pass to a team mate further away and not to your closest team mate, I think ou only tab the pass buttong to get the pass to go to a team mate closest to you..


But what Ive yet to hear is if this annoying passing still happens in PES4, short pass or long pass, when your wanting to pass to a player you see is free or not and you hit the pass button does the pass go to him, or like PES3 does the pass go to another player?


Can anyone tell me why this happens, why at times can't you pass to the player you want, why does it go to another player all together...
