I really don't get PES fans

Its been bothering me for a while but why can't PES fans accept the fact that you can play and like two different games and like both of them for different reasons?

Im a PES fan and I've been browsing the PES forums and it really annoys me how PES fans seem to have this superiority complex because they can't see how anyone can like FIFA. Not only that but they then go onto claim that they're community must be more mature because they've "seen the light that PES is the only true game".

If i hear one more PES fan moaning about FIFA fans "blind loyalty" I will burn my PES3 CD. It really annoys me. Both games have different things going for them and people are going to get different things out of each game. I have both installed and have no plans to uninstall any. FIFA is much more "fun", whereas PES3 makes a better attempt to recreate football. However because PES3 tries to be more accurate, its inaccuracies makes it intolerably frustrating, whereas you can accept FIFAs failing coz you don't expect any better and can get on with just enjoying playing the game.

Wish PES fans would just grow-up and accept the fact that it is possible to enjoy both games.

I understand how people that know every in and out of soccer can be frustrated with FIFA and prefer PES because I have the same problem with EA Sports' MVP Baseball compared to High Heat. To the casual baseball fan MVP Baseball may be more appealing, especially with it's beautiful graphics but High Heat definitely provides a more realistic game of baseball. The thing that ruined MVP for me is that there are practically no base hits on balls grounded through the infield between the 1st baseman and the 2nd baseman or the shortstop and the 3rd baseman but I never once felt compelled to surf over to the MVP message board and belittle everyone posting there for not playing High Heat.

I also own FIFA 2004 and PES3 as well as TCM2004 and CM03/04 but I prefer both FIFA and TCM over PES and CM, respectively. I just don't have the time to play PES and CM enough to where I'm good enough in that they actually provide enjoyment.

But, this is the internet and you can expect people to act like real arse's because there's no one within arms length to pop 'em in the jaw when they go too far. Most the flamers are teens and what can you expect when most teens are blithering idiots?

Don't sweat 'em. Play what you enjoy - it's your life.

Well being a person who prefers PES but still enjoys FIFA, I can undserstand what you are saying. I don't agree with it but I kinda understand the PES prophets also. This may sound stupid but I felt the same when I first discovered WE. I was so happy and thought it was so great and so much better than FIFA that I wanted to share this with other poeple. I wanted them to have the same wonderful experiences that I had with WE, ones that never happened with FIFA.

Sounds cheesy I know. The fact is most poeple just don't know how to express themselves other than saying FIFA sucks and your an idiot for liking it and all that.....

There's your point in case right there butler. Zka, why is it so hard to understand why someone might prefer FIFA to PES? It is all about opinions. All this FIFA sucks, PES sucks gets nobody anywhere. All it causes is a rift between people who enjoy playing football games no matter which title you prefer. Why not discuss the strong points between each game, take that info and e-mail EA and Konami to suggest what they can do to improve 2005 and PES4?

To be honest, though fun, neither game really impressed me terribly. But neither game sucked either.

Again, this is just my opinion. Everyone play nice now:crazyboy:

Because FIFA does not represent football fairly to football fans, it represents "SOCCER" - A layman Americans' representation of football. It is really hard to see how football enthusiasts would enjoy playing a horribly flawed game compared to a game which actually beats FIFA in every aspect other than sound.. although it requires a power cpu. It's like, GT3 to say, Mario Kart. Kids and some average joes enjoy Mario Kart while car lovers and most average joes prefer GT3, or InitialD.... Although all 3 are great games..

Well having been a fifa fan for years and not having played PES 'cause I never had a PC, I must say it seemed stupid that people that liked PES came in Fifa forums and kept bitching about how PES is much better.

But now that I've actually played PES and threw fifa out the window for ever, I'm much in gratitude to the people who kept pointing out how much better PES is, because their persistance made me try out both games and decide which is better...and that without a doubt is PES.

Ive just about had enough of these type of messages, saying crap like, fifa is soccer, we/pes is football...

Thats why PES = pro evolution 'SOCCER'
and Fifa 'FOOTBALL' 2004

Seriously though, its so ignorant to say, fifa is soccer and pes is football because they mean the exact same thing.

I agree with zka. You will never convince me that black is white. It isn't. Just like you'll never convince me that a "real" football fan can prefer FIFA to PES...

I'll say it again, real football fans know football, the beautiful game. FIFA is far far from anything even remotely resembling the intricacies of football, and fun it ain't !

I really liked FIFA2003, thought they made some great strides, but it all went out the door in 2004.

my first love was world cup 2002, though it was arcadey as hell, tons of fun.

now, having been converted to PES3, i don't there's a better sim around.

I can't see anyone really "loving" fifa 2004 gameplay, because, pure and simple, it sucks. It doesn't play like the actual game itself.

We all love football - that much we have in common (I hope!?)

Football can be played in a stadium or on the street, with a tennis ball, a coke can, a cat, or anything. Jumpers for goal posts? We've all done it (well, maybe not the cat bit!), we've all had FUN playing football - however we can.

It doesn't matter if you prefer PES or FIFA, if you are having a good time then that is all that matters. Football is a G A M E. Games are entertainment.

but hey.... would you really want to continue playing with coke can, if somebody came along and gave you a real size five football?

NOT UNLESS YOU ARE A BIT STRANGE.

The PES fan is the person who has discovered a truck load of free footballs and wants to share them with his football loving mates. he KNOWS they make will the game better (maybe not more fun), just ... better.

It is natural that he get's frustrated when his mates won't throw away their coke cans and try the real balls... and when they claim the coke can is better than a real ball it makes him laugh... sometimes cry, and maybe even get a little angry.

Remember though people, it is a game. FUN is what it is all about.

People create their fun in different ways, for some it is winning 11-0, for some it is struggling to hold a 0-0 draw.

In my opinion, PES3 offers you MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR FUN and enjoyment than fifa.

FIFA is like playing with the coke can. Can be very fun indeed.... but I'd personally rather use a real ball, thank you very much.

It's about fun ,yeah.

FIFA becomes boring after a few hours because you find out how to score and all you have to do is follow that pattern.
In PES ,you're not gonna score just like that and you won't score multiple times using the same trick.
I have played FIFA a lot and I know what's the game all about.
PES is much better as it's more realistic and there are thousands of ways to score. To me ,that sounds more fun.A lot more.

I am a true soccer fan, and I think that PES 3 IS ****! But I don't make fun of you pes3 fans, for liking the video games you obviously enjoy. All i know is that FIFA Is my game for life. It will rise above PES3, as it already has.
