Fact of the matter is, Pedro Mendes is fine, your all facken over reactin'.

Bitter Man United fans, get over it.

Oh and by the way, it's how funny how so many Man United fans said they hated Ronaldo's guts after the World Cup, all seems to be forgotten now doesn't it?

Oh man classic reaction, mentioning Ronaldo, wtf has Ronaldo got to do with this? Are you trying to compare a dive with an assault on someone? Oh wait i´m talking to an english person of course you are. First, i´m not an United fan, second this isn´t over reacting, if this kind of challenges continue perhaps next time we won´t have an epilepsy attack but serious brain damage instead. You are always babbling about clamping down diving why don´t you also worry about preventing this kind of behaviour? I´m imagining that you will say that challenges like this or the one Haaland suffered are all part of football and shouldn´t be erradicated. Shame you have to drag this into the clubistic perspective, the issue is far more important.

How ironic, you seem to hate/dissaprove of any hard tackles/challenges, yet your username is Vinnie Jones?

Where are you from then?

Another lame and missed attempt. Yes my username is Vinnie Jones but it doesn´t have to do with the footballer but with the actor since Lock, stock and two smoking barrels and Snatch are two of my favourite movies. When he was playing we didn´t have access to English football so it has nothing to do with his on field antics. It was a nice try although, you almost proved a point

Yes, as his acting is so brilliant in both films (:/)

Nearly stringing a sentance together, than smashing someones head in with a car door for 5 minutes.

Don't get me wrong, I love Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. But I can't understand why your going way over the top about this incident.

Perhaps i was too harsh but this kind of challenge and the implications that can have on a person´s health is extremely worrying for me. I just hope this doesn´t happens too often. I don´t wanna crucify Thatcher nor i want him dead, i just hope he changes his behaviour. Once can be bad luck but the Mendes challenge looked deliberate and he must be punished for his actions.

You facken ladies, I suggest you watch a Sunday League match, or even a rugby game.

YES it was a bad challenge, but facken ell goin on like Ben Thatcher should "die" or he's an "animal". Its not like he's gettin off freely either, he'll server 3 match ban, or even more.

So calm down ffs

like ive said, i hope he's banned for a huge amount of time. Prutton got a 9 match ban for arguing with a ref last season.

Help?

You can't be serious to believe that this challenge is not that bad. The guy slid like good 5 metres unconsious on the field and got taken to a ******* hospital. Do you realize how lucky Mendes was that Thatcher hit his jaw? Should i remind you what could have easily happened if Pedro was a few inches shorter and the elbow would have went into the side of his head? Rugby players have a helmet to wear and Sunday League is played by different rules.

It's like saying that since you can kill an enemy in a war, it is acceptable to do the same to a regular person on a street :| .

It's good that Mendes is fine, although i haven't anything since he was taken to hospital, but it could have been much much worse.

And what does Ronaldo has to do with this? Are you here trying to say that Thatcher's challenge is acceptable or attack United fans?

Disgraceful challenge...he should not be allowed to play football for his life...he was clearly trying to murder mendes

so a day after, Thatcher's issued a personal apology to Mendes and both the FA and police are looking into the incident. so stop getting your panties into a bunch.

First of all, I take it your not from England?

Rugby players do not wear helmets, some players in the scrub wear soft padding, your confusing it with American Football. Anyway in a rugby season you'd see about 5 punches thrown, or some heads being stamped on and you get nowhere as big as fuss as this incident seems to have.

Now, what are you on about Sunday league have different rules? Footballs football, you think Sunday League players are allowed to basically fight each and get away with it? If you don't understand well sunday league is basically amateur football.

Yes it was a bad challenge, and a 5 match ban would be fine. But you lot all need to calm down, the mans apologuised and even written a letter to Pedro. Pedro is fine. But the way most people in this thread have reacted, you'd have thought he facken killed the bloke. Also most of the "over reacters" happen to be Man United fans, taking this incident as an excuse to 'ave a go at City fans, the Ronaldo comment was meant to suggest how fickle United fans are ;).

Oh and Tom, that Prutton incident does seem harsh, but their tryin to clamp down on players surrounding/abusing the referee.

Brown should be banned from football for life for being a psycho. The one he had on Giggs last weekend and the one he had on Sean Davis last season was horrible, I wish he had tried something like that last year, when Roy Keane was still playing.

No i'm not from england and i'm not confusing anything. I know that rugby players don't wear the same time of helmets as american football players do, but they still wear head protection and anything that protects a head is a helmet, at least it is in my books. Not all of them wear it, but a lot of players do wear those soft helmets, that still helps A LOT when getting elbowed or hit in the head.

And because Sunday League IS amateur football, it's totally different. People get away with stuff that they are not allowed to do.

So because Ben apologised and wrote a letter it's ok, we can all forget him? How would you feel if someone smashed you with an elbow into your jaw and then wrote a letter of apology? I bet you would become friends with that guy, wouldn't you?

How do you know that Mendes is fine? Did he tell you that personally or you saw him say that or you saw him back in training or what makes you think that he is 100% OK? These kind of things can easily cause late concussions, which can force people from playing the game. And again if you didn't understand me right, why the elbow was so bad, is because you can EASILY kill a man like that. Hit a little higher and his career is done.

Also, why most of the people complaining are United fans? Probably because 1. Ben Thatcher is a City player, 2. United just had a player unfairly red carded and banned for 3 games for something that deserves a yellow at most, and now we get this incident, which is way worse and the player escapes with a yellow.

Don't get me wrong, maybe and hopefully the FA will act and punish Thatcher accordingly by banning him for at least 9 games, by for now United fans have every right to complain, because our team always gets special treatment. And trust me, if this was a United player doing it, rony and rhimzone would have created MUCH more fuss, just between the two of them, then all United fans did here.

Again, just forget all the questions i wrote and tell me if you think that this elbow could have never caused anything serious to Mendes and that you think that this kind of thing is bad, but acceptable?

And as for your 'rivalry' with City fans, lessen it a bit as your not even a manucnian - in fact not even an englishman.
So? What's your point? Just because I'm not from the UK doesn't mean I cant feel strongly on the issue and enjoy a good rivalry.. Wtf are you saying "lessen it abit", how about you take that 'lesson' turn it 90 degrees, and stick it up your eurosnob ass.
