If Tim Howard stopped that free kick in 2004...

In the champs league against porto, instead of it deflecting and getting knocked in... would jose mourinho be managing chelsea these last 2 years? If that doesn't go in, porto exit the champs league there. Interesting thought i had this morning.

Well, first of all i would like to say that i ussally wake up with a hard on,and thats not because of any thinking of fotball relatet stuff! but the Question u ask is pretty interesting. I say proberly not! without the UCL title i dont think Chelsea would have been looking his way! but then again, things happen and asking this questions will just mess with our head! (dam Howard)

1. Don't blame Howard for that goal. The ball should have been cleared from the box by the defenders after the save. Timmy had no time to react after the first save.

2. I think Mourinho would have left that season anyways, as he was getting bored of the Portugese league. Also, he and his family were getting death threats from the Mafia (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Actually, it were the super-dragões (FC Porto's ultras) who were threatening him. They were (and are) protected by Porto's chairman, Pinto da Costa, who is a major mobster, the godfather, for so to speak.

So, in a way yeah, you can say it was the mafia.

If Kluivert had bootsize 43 instead of 44
If Sar and De Boer had communicated better
If Hiddink wouldn't stick his head in other players butt
If Cocu didn't feel responsible
If Frank de Boer didn't miss 2 penalties in one game.
If Cristi Chivu hadn't slipped away in the 93th minute
If...well I can go on for a few hours like that. The truth is it didn't happen so what are we talking about?

yeah, ifs are pretty much pointless, i believe every fan of every team has a great number of ifs... if we were to debate that we could be here for ages.

so, yeah, it is a completely useless question :(

i can't really recall what you're talking about, mind giving me some hints? :$

AC Milan - AFC Ajax 2-3, 23th April 2003. Champions League quarter final. Last minute goal by Tomasson, Cristi slipped away and let Inzaghi go who's shot at goal was scrambled in by Tomasson at the line, thanks Adidas. :(
That was the best Ajax I've ever seen since 1995, we could have done beautiful things with that team.

I can't recall ever feeling that **** after a game of football, or it must be after the EURO 2000 semi finals.
