The best way I find to cut is zoom-in about 300%, select the eraser, and cut round it that way.
But I dont know anywhere good to find pictures of El Hadji Diouf though. :(

Yeah, thats my plan too. I also find it much easier that way.

no it's not...the professional way to do it is with "channel masking", but zooming in and using the polygon lasso tool works well too...I've never actually done it with the eraser tool myself, but I imagine it's just like using the marquee tool...

how do u cut out pictures then shinji?

depends on the image I'm cutting out, for really complex stuff I channel mask, but most often I just use the zoom + polygon lasso.

Nice splash El Hadji Diouf, especially when you're still learning. Nice cut for such a big picture. The font is not so good (www.acidfonts.com -- good free font downloads).
I suggest looking up some tutorials to make Backgrounds, or scroll down and find mine ;), Im not too keen on the repetitivness.
The size is nice, and the set-out of the banner is good too.
Keep up the good work.

Save, you should check out Acid-Fonts too, it'd help for your banner.
