you know those people who keep bagging fifa...i'm not here to bag you guys i just wanna make a point that seems to be missed.

if the game was 100% perfect as you wish it to be, and as realistic as you wish it to be, then we would have to play 90 minute games in order to achieve a fair game. hasn't it occured to you that fifa don't want to make the perfect game? it would be boring - who wants to sit down and play a 90 minute game? i like to watch won, or play one in real life, but not play one on a console for 90 minutes.

fifa just try to make a game entertaining. and i reckon it is. sure there are a few gripes i've got with it to but none of us are perfect. i'm sure if fifa had perfect gameplay it would be the most boring game of all time. the reason i play it instead of pro evolution is cos of the awesome graphics, the real players - and also because it is fun. that's three - one to fifa (pro evo is equally as fun but has **** graphics and no real player names.) admitedlly pro evo is probably more realistic in terms of gameplay, but, as i mentioned earlier, this doesn't make the game funner.

anyone ever played sega soccer slam? that game rocks and its **** all like real life soccer. alright, so EA are stupid when they say "its football simulation" cos i ain't dumb enough to believe that so i ignore. i just play the game with my favourite players who look like they do and have fun - without the complaints! i focus on the positives and this approach makes me feel good.

don't worry EA. you are doing a half decent job. i seriously believe the fifa games have improved each year in recent years.

Hey wussup. But the gameplay bit is the point of games! otherwise EA wouldn't be trying to fix it. Everyone has their own opinion, and i respect yours. But please respect mine when i say that i think pes has good gameplay and is very fun because of it. It's true that the false names suck, which konami cannot do anything about. But they try to make up for it by including an pretty good creation center where u can edit almost anything. And when pes is released for pc, there will definitely be edits so that everything regarding player names will be perfect. (cuz it's been done for ps2, but u'd need burner and modded ps2 for it) So please give the demo a decent try (i'd say if u could win 4/5 three-star games u have) at least and see what all those lunatic pes gamers are running around raving about.

For me fifa 2004 its close or even better to PES3 gameplay ( with the AI patch ofcourse ) at default settings fifa 2004 is crap, its hard to imagine how EA could let gameplay be so bad.... the CPU just pass forward and runs directly to you loosing the ball so easy.

Also try watching a game CPU vs CPU you will see how stupid it is , defense wont even move when the opponent approach from the middle.

Tried to fix the defense but no luck :( at least everything else its fixed now.

You are forgetting one important point "derzp"...

FIFA football is a yearly game.

you state - "the game was 100% perfect as you wish it to be" - well in my opinion, the game is really good for another year release.

EA wont make the game perfect straight away as it takes time to develop. throughout the years they have improved and included excellent features - although some years they have gone backwards with some stuff, but this has been a good learning experience.

would you rather have them make a game over a period of 5 years say and then release a "perfect" project then - i know i dont.

I always by the newest fifa every year - wots £30 when i play it all year long!!!!

RIGHT... i have just bought fifa 2004 on xbox and i downloaded the demo on pc. I also have just downloaded the PES3 demo, and Derz must not have played PES3 becuase 1. the graphics on PES3 are ALOT better than this years FIFA. 2. the gameplay is alot more fluid. and 3. the names of the players on the demo r real... there are way more options, I was very impressed and this is the first time i have ever played PES, have played and owned all the FIFA's since 1997, but from now on i will buy the PES games, + u will b able to get a patch to update the players and team names anyway. So i would reccomend PES3 over fifa 2004 100%:crazyboy:

There is no argument with you mate, jus trying to add to your comments.

People dont seem to understand that EA sports have a great title in FIFA and will want to release a new version every year instead of just releasing one "good" game and being done with it.

I really dont have a problem with paying for this game every year, as i said, i play it all year round, so i get my money's worth.

FIFA has moved ahead so much since 2003, cant wait to actually get my copy of 2004 on the PC. The next few titles will continue to move forward as well, increasing the career modes capabilities and of course the gameplay :D

I have just played the PES demo.

My first impressions are...A bad port from PS, still with the ps controller icons littering the menus, not very user friendly.

The cutscenes at the start were good, but the faces are not a touch on FIFA. It seemed all very cartoonish.

As soon i started to play i could tell the differences, FIFA's movement and realism is still untouchable. PES players seemed to run as though they had something stuck up their arses, very strange.

IMO: PES = a better graphical version of Actua Soccer - FIFA 2004 is much better then PES 3.

after playing both, I uninstalled FIFA a day after I downloaded it. Its not football. I've been playing WE and PES games for 5 years now. They're as close as you get to real football, everything is recreated beutifully and I would vote PES3 as the best game ever created for any format. Hundreds of hours of fun, sweat, tears, emotions and the best most enjoyable gameplay in existance.

EA will take another 10 years to catch up to ISS pro 98 which is a 6 year old game for PS1....let alone PES3.

All comparisons are really unfair, FIFA is not even a mediocre game, while PES3 is a sublime recreation of the beautiful sport with thousands of incredible realistic innovations. If you play football, watch football, live for football, you will rightly give FIFA a miss again...

we are a football tribe....

anyway, to me its seems as if there is no clear better game. some people think pes is better, while other think that fifa is better. i think fifa is better. anyway it depends on wat you want in a game and some ppl want other things.

at least we all have the luxury that there are two games which offer different things and give each other competition.

Breamster,

you've only played it for less than 18 minutes. You cant judge a game after only playing for such a short time. If i were to play the new FIFA 2004 for 10mins and after that came here to say its absolutely crap - wouldnt you ask me to play it some more to get into it?

Ive played both PES3 Demo and FIFA2004 Demo, and im very surprised to see your claim that FIFA is much better in movement and realism. Are you sure your not just a tiiiny bit fifa-biased still...? Just asking :)

Breamster you got to accept that any game that needs a 'gameplay' patch to play half decent has serious problems.
