importing new team?

Okay, I admit I'm a bit late in upgrading, but wondered how easy it was in 02 to import a new unique team? I've managed to create a new roster/team in the 'creation center' but couldn't see the new .fsh file created to swap the generated kit to a unique one of my own. Is it compressed into kits.big or summat?

Is it poss. to switch like this, is there another way or do we have to wait for Chau to weave his magic once more??

created teams DO NOT have their own kits, the only way to do it is by using FifaFX

Unfortunately FifaFX doesn't support importing 2GK original kits though. Does anyone know if the Fifamania installer can do this?

Also, does anyone know if there's a comprehensive list of kit numbers already in the game?

The thing I don't get is that NHL2001 already had the ability to import or change kits from within the game itself. Why is it taking Fifa so long to get this ability??

who said FifaFX does not support 2GK?
you just need to delete the goal keeper 2GK you have on the main folder (if you have them) and that is it!

Well according to the read-me file by Bolzar, they do:

"2. You can assign individual home- and awaykits and flags to your selfcreated teams

Create a new Teamfolder with the name of your Team.
Copy the 4 *.bat-files out of another teamfolder (NOT Neutral !) inside this folder.
Copy your flags and kits with these names inside: (NO 2GK-Textures !)"

Well, I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Trust me, it does NOT work. I tried every possible combo, even created a league - no luck. Tried it with an existing team, no luck.

One glitch I did notice however, in the Creation center even though the kit said HOME on the socks, in the home kit edit screen the socks would not hold #3, kept bumping to #4!! Wierd.

I've used FifaFX before in 2001, so it's not as if I'm not used to the program either - just think it's something to do with the 2GK issue that's all.

I am using 2GK (2GK2S in fact) in my CzechLeagueFifaFX patch (new version will be in a few days on www.fifafx.de) and everything goes right with FifaFX. I have tested all original kits, 32bit, 2S, 2GK, 2GK2S, 2GK4S, 3GK kits in FifaFX and everything works good. If you want to learn more, wait a few days till the new version of the Czech League patch is released. Then you can see how it works. It really does!!!

so you say that you can use 3gk kits with fifafx, you just have to delete the gk files? can you tell me which file especificly do I have to delete?

I too would be interested in knowing which files exactly.

I looked in the main folder and the only .fsh files other than teams were the generic templates pk and sk. I was under the impression these were dynamically wrapped for each game.

If someone would care to enlighten the rest of us, that would be great.

I did eventually manage to get it [sort-of] working. However, the 8-bit fronts of the 2GK jerseys take a bit of tweaking in the colours palette as they don't precisely hold together as well as the rest of the kit.

So yes, it sort-of works. The best solution would still have to be Chau's Fed2K2 though - can't wait.

ok, it work but which file did you delete from the main folder? and what kits did you use? 2gk, 2gk4s or 3gk?

H - I thought about how I had installed FifaFX [I think it was in German] and had dodged putting it directly in the F2K2 main folder [not realizing it actually generated its own folder and that it wanted to overwrite the F2K2 readme file [so rename that beforehand]]. So I did a re-install which replaces the template .fsh files for keeper and sidelines etc [make a note of those or back up first - pk****, sh****, sk**** you can always re-install those from the CD if necessary].

Went back into Fifa and now had the ability to view within the creation center [although my 2GK kit fronts looked slightly transsparent as they are 8-bit, but with a bit of tweaking in the colour palette, they'll do until Fed comes out].

I'm actually going to try 3GK soon , but have to confirm which naming convention works for 2K2 as there appears to be more components available in this version of Fifa.

OK, i understood just a half of what you explained but its ok, so, what you did was reinstall fifafx or fifa2002? and when & where did you add your 2gk kits? soory but I hope you could help understand what you did. THANKS

Re-installed FifaFX, only this time I first renamed the Fifa2K2 readme.txt file in the main 2K2 folder [as FX has one too and asks if you want to overwrite].

Then upgrade to v.3.0 [as there were bugs in 2.1]

After installation, created a folder for my team, followed the instructions on copying over the bat files and naming conventions.

Went into creation center and did the rest.

As mentioned, I noticed that the hjfr's were not as they should be as mine are 8-bit, but with a bit of tweaking... and the rest looked fine.

did you manage to get a list of the team numbers as well?

I get the bit about making the team folder and copying the batch files over, but there is one thing I don't get. If for example I copied over the arsenal batch files into my newly created team folder, where would I put a new kit file I have created with an fsh extension (as per the tutorial)?

you have to put both fsh files in that folder (both the home and away kit)
