I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed or not, but is the video CGI or in-game?

It's definetely not in-game, just an eye kandy. I hate those kind of videos. What, do they really think that someone falls for that kind of crap.

Yeah, I thought so. And I don't understand why they put out CGI videos for people to view, either. They were cool 7 or 8 or so years ago when it was new, but now it's just stupid and a waste of download time.

I have been told that this is indeed IN GAME footage for the Xbox 360, ESPECIALLY the video that you see on IGN. It's not CGI and it looks incredible.

If it was CGI you'd tell too, but that deffo looks in-game. But I have had it confirmed :-)

As Valioso has said you obviously haven't seen any IGN in-game footage from the likes of Project Gotham 3, which blows FIFA's visuals away. And yes that's in-game too.

All footage is in-game unless stated otherwise, but mark my words the Xbox 360 can EASILY produce graphics you see in FIFA 06 next-gen.

As I said before, someone who works at EA has confirmed this for me. It is in-game footage.

It's not playable in game, it's a pre-rendered CG demonstration of what EA aims for. I don't have any source but I read that in an interview around E3.

So no, it's not in game, but you should expect graphics like that on the next-gen consoles.

No no no I didn't mean 'in-game' as in 'taken from a match', but the video IS the graphics engine of FIFA 06 on 360. It's not CGI...it is the graphics engine and EA have used it to make the video. :)

Basically, expect the graphics to look like that!!!!!

This video reflects as much in-game footage as WE8 intro movie. Of course they are using actual game engine, but all the pretty effects like lights, shadows and such are there to add drama. And there are mostly cut scenes shown too. Not like a real gaming action.

That said I'm not saying that xboxe's garphics won't be awesome, just that this is not an in-game footage you will see playing the game.

Yup yup, i just expect it to look like that. Especially if you've seen the other big games lined-up for 360 launch. PGR3 is amazing.

I really hope that old 360 vid was CGI as the player models and facial expressions were really ugly (Rooney's mug was deplorable) and the grass looked like it wasn't mowed in weeks ;)

hahaha that's what we call 3D grass! something current-gen can only dream of to produce with all the players' on the pitch, etc. Next-gen can do all these affects with ease. Expect something amazing come november.

They over-did it though. The grass was way too long, hopefully it was just to show off the 3D-ness more and it'll be toned down (or wel, cut down) for the real game.

graphics look good, but i hope theyll use that power too make realistic ball fysics and player animations, thats what i care about.
