In your country do you consider your Referees/Arbitros fair and Good? or the opposite

Cuz in Mexico lately there has been alot of problems with the refereeing and it causes alot of anger towards them cuz sometimes they dont know what to call or even know what they are doing. It irritates me I hate refs! That dont know what they are doing. What do you guys think?

Referees in Scotland are an utter disgrace...but that's down to regional politics, where the old firm are assumed to be lily white and virginal and any other team regarded as cheating, hacking, jealous, moaning bastards.

I think people should stop complaining about refs. They can't see everything. Would you see everything as a ref on the field? Probably even less as the current refs.

Players, coaches, goalkeepers all make mistakes. So do Refs.

Steve Ball, giving a freekick for handball, when it was clearly a header, and he had a good view of it too.

I was impressed with Brummie crowds as they branded the ref a "cheat cheat cheat".

Okay, they do mistakes. But as I said we all make mistakes. I also think if a ref makes a big mistake during a game he will not like it. They are just people

So why have refs then? We should have everything done with computers now! Refs suck! They cost crucial games. At least allow instant replay challenges or something!

I'd like to see your plan for using computers to referee football games.

But on the subject of using instant replay, I'm generally for it. It will, however, create some awkward situations. Imagine this scenario:

A player scores a goal but the ref is not sure if the ball crossed the line. So he goes over to a video monitor to find out. A little bit later he comes back and says "Um, yeah... it's a goal."

The crowd explodes in cheers. The goalscorer who has been standing around for the last few minutes all of a sudden starts running like crazy, takes off his shirt, jumps over the adboards and runs towards the fans.



Know what I mean? It would just look kinda stupid.

Linesmen at least should be replaced or helped by sensors indicating if its offside or goal. I mean if its doable on computer games, of course it is doable in real football. It would be good to have two refs, one for each half of the field allowing a better positioning.

Sometimes it's even difficult on video to decide some play. after different replays we have still some doubts or tehre are different opinions. So video can not be ued in football.

On the other hand, I agree in using sensors to control the offside.

why have players then? you can just generate results with the computer then. It's much cheaper.

refs make human mistakes... is impossible to see everything on the field...and football is played at a very high pace and the refs have 1 angle and 3 seconds to make a decision to blow the whistle or not... they dont get slow motion replays like we do watching at home.. from every other angle... if you have never ref a game, is very easy to talk.

Refs make mistakes BLA!BLA!BLA!!!! they are only humans BLA!BLA!BLA!BLA! IMHO most of refs in Portugal are all TERRIBLES...

like others they make HUGE mistakes, but usually always FC Porto is the team that became with the points. Why in hell FIFA don't use TV screens and other technology to help referees in he's hard task...or is FIFA not interested in transparency of soccer/football ????? I think, IMHO that there's most financial interestes to keep referees making CIRURGICAL mistakes, so they can take advantage of it !!! IMO

I hate refs even more since Sunday. This anus caused us the game when he pulled out that stupid direct red card on Omar Bravo for sliding into the ball and barley touching the player that had the ball. This crap needs to stop. Sometimes I think they favor a team more than the other THEY ARE HUMAN RIGHT! Ihate refs!
