Install CL 06-07 without installing DX9?

Is it possible to install UEFA CL 06-07 without installing DirectX9? I run XP x64 edition and obviously DX9c is already installed, but the installer for the game fails with "The game cannot be installed because DirectX9 or later is not installed on your system". This is just after the dialog with the Microsoft DX9 agreement.

Do you have an Nvidia card? I had the same thing after I installed Vista on a partition and upgraded to the latest Nvida drivers. I then re-installed the system but installed Fifa without updating the Nvidia drivers and all was OK. I think the latest Nvidia drivers must do something to directX or the registry so the system doesnt realize X9c is installed.

i had sent installed uefa champions league game to my friend ..but its not working ...can any 1 tell me how can i send registry files to him?? where is registry files
