Inter captain Javier Zanetti

FC Internazionale Milano could be without captain Javier Zanetti when they begin their UEFA Champions League Group H campaign at FC Artmedia Bratislava on 13 September.

Thigh strain
The 32-year-old Argentinian international right-back played the whole game as the Nerazzurri defeated Treviso FC 3-0 yesterday, but subsequently felt discomfort in his right thigh. Zanetti underwent a scan which revealed a muscle tear and now needs to rest for a few days before embarking on a rehabilitation programme that could last up to three weeks.

Ze Maria at RB i guess. Or put Cordoba at RB, and have Matrix, Mihajlovic at CB. :nape:

He is a freagin bull... Give him a couple of weeks to rehab, unfortunately he'll miss CL matchday 1 but we'll be fine as long as it's a short term thing.

A very good player who never really made it here... Many could say he never really got the opportunity to do so... Good move for both sides as Inter already hve 20 billion middies, free up some space and cash... And for Benfica who are competing for the CL also made a good move improving the Mid. He'll be successful there, good luck Kara!

Channel4.com says

Karagounis, who has moved for an undisclosed fee, was netted at the specific request of boss Ronald Koeman.

and Sky says Benfica paid less than 1 million Euros :|

PAOLO ORLANDONI SIGNS FOR INTER
Tuesday, 30 August 2005 18:26:13
MILAN - FC Internazionale has completed the signing of Paolo Orlandoni. The goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a contract that expires on 30 June 2007.

Orlandoni, born in 1972, returns to Inter after playing for the club's youth sector until 1990/91 before joining Mantova, then had spells at other Serie C and B clubs. He joined Serie A side Bologna in 1999/2000, and has also played top-flight football for Lazio.

"I'm very pleased to be back at Inter, the team I grew up at," Orlandoni said. "I'm honoured to wear this shirt, having always been a fan of these colours."

he wasn't netted on a specific request from Ronald Koeman that's for sure, we've been trying to sign him for 7 months now, but Inter asked for some money and with the pressure of the transfer deadline and the perspective of having to pay another year or his wages, they released him free.

Well, portuguese media say it was a free transfer, italians will say that is was an undisclosed fee.. Guess we'll never know. So, Moratti, you still got a chance;)

Damn it. Not only do we lose JZ to a lengthy injury (the first he's suffered since I've been an Inter fan) but we also lose Karagounis for some crappy fee. To be honest I definately would have rathered us not sign Figo and keep Kara instead. Big mistake letting him go. But I guess it's for his own good because he was never given the chances he deserved, but like a true pro he never complained or made a scene. Good luck to him, I'll definately miss him.

BTW on this Orlandoni guy I couldn't care less. 3rd GKs almost never get any minutes so who cares. What I'm wondering though is what happened to Cordaz? He was suppose to be our number 3, but in the Treviso game he was replaced by Bindi, and now Orlandoni has been signed. Weird. Perhaps he's injured. Anywayz I hope he ends up at another club so he continues to get experience.

And also, whose Maicon? That name sounds familiar. Is he a RWB by chance, sorta like ZM? I wouldn't be surprised if such a player is signed.

hes an offensive minded RB who plays for Monaco and occasionally in Brazil team. Some feel otherwise, but in the games I saw for him last season I thought he was class. But Inter has Zanetti and Ze Maria already, and hes cuptied as well. Plus, Mark is just bullsh*tting. I wanna wake up tommorow and see 'Chiellini to Inter', but i dont think its gonna happen :(

Good. With Burdisso supposedly back (but I'm still not sure) we dont' have to go out and get a new RB just because JZ is injured. As far as I'm concerned we're covered as long as ZM is injury free.

(notice the trees in background are exactly the same!!!)

compared to say.. this

I wonder which version of Adobe Photoshop they used :D

VDM move to Everton is in doubt because of a thigh injury, and noone seems to want to gamble on coco because of his injuries. Both could stay!!!!!!!!!
