nice to come away with some silverware this season even if its the coppa again.

Adri looks like he's trying to force everything. He seems to think if he strikes the ball hard enough it will go through any defender or keeper that obstructs its path.

Cambiasso's goal was a beauty, his importance to this team cannot be overstated.

Adriano, Julio Cesar, Luis Figo, Dejan Stankovic, Marco Materazzi, Esteban Cambiasso,and......JULIO CRUZ! Have all been picked to their country's World Cup squad.

Congrats to Cruz. He has worked his ass off this year to get this call, and his been our most consistent striker. Good luck Julio!!

I can't believe Zanetti was left off the Argentina squad...This is a sad day for Argentinian football...

Looking towards next season it seems to be more of the same. Moratti, Mancini, and Adriano are most likely all staying. Hopefully Adri shines at the World Cup and regains his finishing touch. A turn of form for him would at the least raise his value on the market if he does get sold.

Also Dacourt's signing it reportedly in the bag (Do we really need him?). I know he was a big part of Roma's success a couple of years ago but I feel his best days are behind him.

Anyway with all the scandal and corruption swirling around Italy right now, Inter can really make a huge mark next year by grabbing some legitimate trophies and clearing the Serie A's name. Whatever the fallout from the match fixing scandal, it seems like this following season will be much more open. A title race between 3 or 4 teams would not only be a nice change of pace from the 2 horse race we see almost ever year. Of course I wouldn't complain if Inter was one of those two horses...

Hey everyone,
I have been keeping up with this thread for about a year now and finally decided to join it. I have to admit that this season was a little bit disappointing, but we still managed to salvage one of our goals and won the coppa italia once more. Also, I am totally stoked about the world cup, and there will be many a great matches to watch there.

Inter 'agree Grosso terms'

Inter transfer guru Marco Branca has announced the club is working out the final details for Palermo full-back Fabio Grosso.

“We haven’t sealed the deal yet, but we are very close,” confirmed the Nerazzurri technical director this evening.

“We spoke to Grosso today and discussed the matter. I think we’ll get together again in two or three days to put the final details in place.”

Grosso has been at Palermo for three seasons and his form for the side saw him become an Azzurri regular, so far picking up 15 caps for his country and travelling to Germany for the World Cup.

The 29-year-old is also valuable for his set-piece abilities and would suit Coach Roberto Mancini’s 4-4-2 system.

Branca was also asked to comment on Luca Toni, who has been linked with Inter after hinting his future at Fiorentina was far from secure.

“I have my problems to deal with, I can’t keep an eye on those of other clubs too. I think that any player in the world would like to wear the Inter jersey. This is a great side with an impressive history,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Palermo have secured the services of 39-year-old Chievo goalkeeper Alberto ‘Jimmy’ Fontana, who was out of contract.

of course you need Dacourt now that C. Zanetti is off to Juve
True enough, but there are other options for the center of midfield, Pizarro obviously, but Stankovic could also play there. He's been mostly on the left side of the midfield since Cambiasso and Veron's arrival, but he could easily return to the center. Of course that might mean playing Solari on the left, so we all know it's impossible.

Veron is gone...time for him to go.

At times...our most influential player, then at others he would just give up.

Cost us the Villareal match.

He was good in midfield but not good enough for us to win trophies.

Inter needs a new goalkeeper and new "Veron".....Defence is getting old :boohoo:
Figo is playing great for Portugal this WC I hope he will also play like that in next season :jap:

Julio Cesar had a very solid season for Inter and Toldo stepped up to the plate when he was called upon. Goal keeping has not been the biggest concern about this squad, goal scoring is. In fact, defence has improved greatly over the last season. Mancini's biggest worry should be about getting the boys to put balls in the back of the net consistently, not who's between the posts.

But you can continue to blame the team's shortcomings on their keeper if you want, you'll just have to get used to no one taking you seriously.
