Well that was ******* retarded. The camera showed Di Canio grabbed Burdisso around the neck and put him in a head lock. All Burdisso did was push Di Canio to try and get away from him. He probably said something to Di Canio that pissed him off, but that reaction is uncalled for.

Di Canio better get a suspension.

Bojinov is almost an Inter player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Inter set for Bojinov deal

Inter are hoping to secure the services of Fiorentina striker Valeri Bojinov as the Viola swoop for Franco Semioli, according to reports in Italy.

The Nerazzurri have been in the hunt for a striker for weeks now as they attempt to alleviate their shortage of short-term attacking options, but it seems as though Bojinov could at last be on his way to the San Siro following the latest transfer development.

Fiorentina have been reluctant to release their controversial Bulgarian to another club but, with the player and club still at loggerheads, President Andrea Della Valle now appears willing to allow him to move to Inter on loan until the end of the season.

This arrangement, however, depends on the Gigliati’s success in securing the services of Chievo wide man Semioli.

The Veronese club have turned down various offers from Palermo, but it now appears that Della Valle is willing to swoop for the in-demand winger.

Semioli’s arrival would give Fiorentina, who tend to play with a one-man attack, increased attacking options and send Bojinov even further down in the pecking order for first-team opportunities.

Inter are now waiting with bated breath in the hope that Semioli moves to Florence thereby releasing their man.

Thank god!!! No Simone Inzaghi!!! We're getting Booooooooojinovvvvvvvvv (on loan) :rockman: :rockman:

Moratti confirmed Inter reached an agreement with Ajax over Maxwell, said to be around 1 million euros. But he will be loaned out first to another Serie A club, as Inter is on their foreigners limit.

edit - Ajax' Martin van Geel said he knew nothing about it. I guess Moratti spoke too soon.

FIGO, STANKOVIC SINK LECCE
Sunday, 29 January 2006 22:57:29

LECCE - Second-half goals from Luis Figo and Dejan Stankovic gave Inter a hard-earned 2-0 win at Lecce in Serie A Week 22 to put Inter four points clear of third-placed AC Milan and stretch the Nerazzurri's unbeaten run in all competitions to nineteen matches. The gap at the top of the table remains eight points, with leaders Juventus 3-1 winners at Ascoli.

Serie A cellar dwellers Lecce had the best chance of the opening period when Mirko Vucinic went through then saw a diagonal shot parried by Julio Cesar, but Inter gradually came into the game and went close when Veron had a curling free kick tipped over by Benussi, who blocked a Cambiasso volley from the edge of the box with more first-half heroics.

Adriano's fierce left-footed drive from 20 metres forced a diving save from Benussi on 50 minutes as the Nerazzurri continued to create the best chances after the restart, but there was nothing the Lecce goalkeeper could do to stop Figo giving Inter the lead with a well-struck low shot from inside the box on 71 minutes.

Inter's task was made easier after Ledesma was dismissed for a second yellow card with fifteen minutes remaining, but ten-man Lecce almost grabbed a late equaliser through Cassetti who headed wide of an open goal with Julio Cesar stranded.

Dejan Stankovic, who returned to scoring in the midweek cup draw at Lazio, met an Adriano pass then sent a 20-yard drive into the roof of the net to make extra sure of the points in injury time.

I got some news on Ballack. Inter is ready to offer him 8 million per year but he's demanding a contract until 2011 and expects an answer until tomorrow.

Moratti wants some more time to think about it because of his age.

Seems a bit too long for that kind of money...

We need a player like Ballack damnit. Veron just can't cut it.

Well Fiorentina aren't letting Bojinov go so I guess we are stuck with two strikers.

However reports say that a deal with Lazio was re-negotiated and that Cesar will be joining us today

Elo Ratings
MILAN - Inter beat Lazio 1-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza to win the Tim Cup quarter-final tie 2-1 on aggregate and set up a two-legged semi-final clash with Udinese.

Dejan Stankovic, who scored at the Olimpico last week and against Lecce in Serie A Week 22 last Sunday, notched his third in as many games as Inter stretch their unbeaten run to twenty matches without defeat.

The Nerazzurri had the lion's share of scoring chances in the first half, Adriano going close after 20 minutes when the Brazilian met a Solari through ball then slotted inches wide with just Ballotta to beat.

Minutes later Inter Primavera striker Matteo Momentè, making third first-team appearance after run-outs against Parma in the cup and Rangers in the Champions League earlier in the season, sent a diagonal shot into the side-netting as Inter edged closer to an opener.

It came on 37 minutes when Stankovic beat Ballotta with a fierce right-footed drive from the edge of the Lazio box. In a burst of attacking activity before half time the Serb midfielder crashed another effort from the distance over the bar, and could have doubled the score 16 minutes into the second half with a first-time shot from Pizarro's corner that finished just wide.

Lazio's goalkeeper is outstanding. I was watching the highlights of the Lazio-Treviso game from this past weekend, and he made at least 5 highlight reel saves. He also made some fine saves today against Inter. He will definately be a player to watch over the rest of the year.

Anyways, good result. Stankovic is getting his scoring form and that is a good thing. Our midfielders are scoring more than our strikers and this is a little worrying. I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with Adriano but he looks lost. His first touch is lacking and he's not putting away goals like he used to.

But anyway good to see us move on to the semi's. I think we play Udinese.

Now on to Serie A this weekend being at home against Chievo.
